Hoboken is home to many creative and unique businesses — from fitness options to eateries, you can find just about anything you are looking for in the Mile Square City. However, Hoboken salon and barbershop Spesh has made the decision to close its Hoboken storefront and convert its business to mobile-only.  Its storefront was located at 932 Washington Street. This gender-neutral parlor has haircutting and styling, hair color treatments, gray blending, beard trims, and texture treatments such as relaxers. Read more about what this now mobile-only salon + barbershop is about.

The Conversion to Mobile

Per a note put up on the Spesh storefront’s window, the salon and barbershop is going mobile. The note says “Goodbye 932. We are going mobile. For future appointments: please text 201-577-1039. Email speshhair@gmail.com. DM us on IG @thespesh.”

All About Spesh

From runway looks to contemporary street trends, the stylists at Spesh create any look you’re after. Entirely based on hair length (short, mid-length, and long), people of all genders and identities can get the style and look they want.

Spesh was opened in 2017 by stylist + barber Steven Torres, but many of the stylists at Spesh have been studying and working with hair for over 15 years, including Steven.

“I started out in the hair industry because I wanted to give back. I truly enjoy helping people feel good about themselves. There is no other feeling like getting a good haircut. You find yourself walking taller and smiling brighter,” Steven told HG back in 2020.

He created Spesh with the goal of having a salon and barbershop come together as one to serve multiple types of clientele. The salon hosts a broad range of continuing education classes that touch on various lengths and styles to keep the team up-to-date and in the know with current techniques.
