Yes, the rumors are true! Another restaurant will be added to Washington Street. Owners of the Flatbread Grill are originally from Hoboken and are thrilled to be bringing business back to their hometown. The restaurant serves Mediterranean food with high quality products at an affordable price. They use fresh produce, white meat chicken with no hormones, and most importantly they bake homemade artificial free bread daily. Sounds delicious! Flatbread Grill will be open on Saturday at 11:00 AM on 517 Washington Street. Stop by and welcome them {back} to the neighborhood.
Open Mic Event at the Hoboken Public Library: Saturday, August 15th at 2:00PM
The Hoboken Public Library’s Park Bench Open-Mic offers a space for local talent to be showcased. Anyone can partake in this event. Park Bench Poetry is proud to feature an astounding musical performance by The Westet, a jazz/fusion band with incredible tight, syncopated riffs. Join them at 2pm and sign up for the Open-Mic. Clear the Shelters: Saturday, August 15th from 11:00AM-6:00PM
Support the Liberty Humane Society in their Clear the Shelters promotion with NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47. During the summer season the shelter sees more stray dogs and cats coming into the shelter than any other time of year. The Clear the Shelters event provides no-fee pet adoptions for approved adopters. This event not only provides great adoption opportunities for the homeless animals, but also prepares kennels for incoming animals. Puerto Rican Heritage Festival: Saturday, August 15th from 12-9PM
Explore the Puerto Rican culture this weekend at the Heritage Festival. Enjoy some rice, beans, roasted pork, and frituras and other delicious fried finger foods. The festival is located at 10 Exchange Place, Jersey City. There will be live entertainment followed by a parade on Sunday August 16th at 12:00PM beginning at the Lincoln Monument Entrance and ending at city hall.
