If you are looking for a night out on the town, Teak on the Hudson is the place to be this weekend. Friday Night is ladies night with bottle specials and free entry for girls until 11PM. Artist Makeup Academy Presents Angel Merino: Friday, August 21 at 6:00PM

Celebrity makeup artist Angel Merino will be giving an East Coast Masterclass this Friday at Artists Makeup Academy. Angel was the primary makeup artist for HGTV network projects such as Celebrity Holiday Homes. He has also worked with Ariana Grande, Cassie, Mel B, Toni Braxton, Christina Milian, Tinashe, Chanel Iman, and Fifth Harmony. In the class Angel will do two start to finish make up demonstrations- one on a model with fair skin and one on a model with deeper skin. Attendees will learn about different skin types, prepping skin, flawless foundation application, balancing and perfecting brows, eye shadow techniques specific to red carpet & different eye shapes, how to customize lashes and enhancing eyes with individual lashes, etc. This class is a look and learn class. Artists Makeup Academy is located at 720 Monroe Street. Maxwell’s Country Concert Series: Friday, August 21st from 6-11:30PM

Maxwell’s Country Concert Series presents Outshyne featuring Nikki Briar. From 6-10PM join the tailgate party with drink specials and live music. 1 Day Hoboken: Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00AM


Hoboken Grace will hold their fifth annual 1Day Hoboken this Saturday and it is shaping up to be the largest ever, with nearly 20 service opportunities within in the community. Volunteers will be lending a hand to local organizations, beautifying parks and helping schools prepare for the fall. Many of the tasks will be family-friendly. Join them at Church Square Park (4th and Willow) at 10:00AM and then disperse across the city for service projects. At the end of the day, plan to reconvene at the Turtle Club for the after-party, with plenty of food and door prizes. Pre-register at 1dayhoboken.com

Grub & Pub Food Tour: Saturday, August 22nd from 2-8:00 PM

Join the Grub & Pub Food Tour this weekend as they take you to both new restaurants and local Hoboken favorites.  Participants will meet at 1 Republik and receive a schedule of which restaurants they will visit throughout the day. The tour will be 5-6 hours and at each stop participants will receive a complimentary Corona or sample food item and happy hour pricing on other food items. Pass the Roc Multicultural Community Festival: Saturday, August 22nd from 10:00AM-5:00PM

Join the Jersey City Department of Recreation in the Pass the Roc Multicultural Community Festival and the “highschool 3 on 3” basketball tournament. There will be a Diabetes and High Blood Pressure Health Fair,  food vendors, live music, bouncy house, double dutch contest & more!  The festival will be held at Adubon Park, Jersey City.

House on the Hudson Summer Series: Sunday, August 23rd from 11:00AM-9:00PM

Soulful Cypher is back again with a Sunday full of fun. The event brings guests a day of morning yoga, free massage, artistic exhibition, kid’s activities, live performances in an incredible atmosphere with an electric feel and great music. Get Open Sessions strives to bring the love, culture and energy of dance music to audiences in an open, family and community oriented environment by collaborating with local artists, performers, community groups and events nationwide. This event will be held at the J. Owen Grundy Park in Jersey City located at Exchange Place on the JC Waterfront.


Parents Night Out: Sunday, August 23rd from 5:15-8:15 PM

End your weekend with Prime Cycle and dinner after with family and friends. Register for “Party on a Bike” with Julie and sign the kiddos up for  Mini-Prime over the phone or at the desk. After you finish the class, your kids will stay at prime cycle so you can enjoy a dinner out on the town before you return at 8:15PM for pickup. Prime Cycle will provide pizza, a movie, and more fun for the kids. The rate for Mini-Prime is $40 for 1 child and $60 for 2. Note: children must be over 2.5 years old and must be potty trained.
