As you may have heard by now, by popular demand, The Hoboken Girl breakfast sandwich is now indefinitely on the menu at all Alessio’s locations — 539 Park Avenue + 1201 Madison Street in Hoboken and 99 Franklin Street in Jersey City. Each quarter, we’ll be choosing a new non-profit to donate a portion of the proceeds to — this quarter our donations of a portion of The Hoboken Girl’s sales will go to the Hoboken Public Education Foundation. This was voted on by our readers, and will be the case from August through the end of October! Read on to learn more about The Hoboken Girl x Alessio’s Sandwich collaboration, as well as what’s to come for our sandwich for a cause, and of course, where and how to enjoy it.

This Quarter’s NonProfit Announced

The debut of The Hoboken Girl’ Breakfast Sandwich this season really showed how amazing our readers are — selling over 2000 sandwiches in its first month debut (!!) — all to highlight local nonprofits that do amazing work in the community — and our entire portion of proceeds was donated to the York Street Project for Women’s History Month (over $2000).

Now, ‘The Hoboken Girl’ Breakfast Sandwich has become a permanent menu item at all Alessio’s locations — and each quarter, we pick a new non-profit to benefit from sandwich sales in an effort to give back and to highlight local nonprofits that do amazing work in the Hudson County Community.

This quarter (August through October), we’ll be donating a portion of our sales to the HPEF, a 501(c)3 non-profit based in the Mile Square whose mission is to support Hoboken’s public schools (voted on by our HG readers) — and every quarter, we’ll announce a new non-profit to donate our sales to.

About the Hoboken Public Education Foundation

hoboken public education foundation

Zap Fitness

The HPEF is a 501(c)3 non-profit based in the Mile Square whose mission is to support Hoboken’s public schools by “elevating and enhancing” the public education experience through private funding. The organization supports the schools’ meaningful programs, encourages the involvement of parents, community members, and local businesses, and provides an opportunity to contribute donations for the benefit of these schools.

Volunteer options and more information on how to donate can be found on the organization’s website. We will be donating our portion of the sales for this quarter to the HPEF, with more to come.

Alessio’s will be donating a portion of The Hoboken Girl’s sales from August through October to the HPEF with EVERY sandwich purchase at ANY location. So keep enjoying your sammies, for a cause!

The Collaboration

This collaboration took months to come to fruition, and the entire Hoboken Girl team worked with Alessio’s on the ingredients, taste-testing multiple versions of sandwiches before picking our favorite — and we can confirm that it’s delicious (and gluten-free, if you want it to be!).

Where to get it:

  • 539 Park Avenue, Hoboken, New Jersey
  • 1201 Madison Street Hoboken, New Jersey (next to Northwest Resiliency Park)
  • 99 Franklin Street, Jersey City Heights, New Jersey
  • You can also order online for delivery or pickup — breakfast is served from 7AM-3PM

The sandwich was only supposed to be available at both Alessio’s locations for the month of March 2024, where The Hoboken Girl team donated our portion to York Street Project. But due to popular demand, we brought it to the menu FULL-TIME — and this quarter, we’re donating our portion to the HPEF.

About Alessio’s

alessios

Alessio’s — which has locations at 539 Park Avenue + 1201 Madison Street in Hoboken and 99 Franklin Street in Jersey City — is an Italian pizzeria and cafe that serves up everything from coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries to pizza, paninis, and gelato.

Owner Luca Infantino was born and raised in Italy and moved to the United States in 2011. After living in Weehawken, Luca fell in love with Hoboken and paved his way in the fashion industry before taking the jump into food service and opening up the Hoboken location in 2020. The Jersey City location opened last summer, and the cafe’s newest project opened at 1201 Madison Street in Hoboken’s Northwest Resiliency Park this spring. Alessio’s also has two kiosks in Pier A Park during the summer months.

Alessio’s — named after Luca’s son — has quickly become a staple in the Mile Square and is known for its authentic Italian products and the real feel of an Italian cafe. The spot prides itself on the quality of its food, customer service, and being involved in the community.

“We are proud to be a “community-based” business, a safe place for children, students, families. Alessio’s always supports charity requests, events sponsorship, etc,” Luca shared, “Partnering up with The Hoboken Girl has been a dream come true.”
