The only thing better than a Hoboken sandwich collaboration is a sandwich collaboration for charity. The Hoboken Girl team is thrilled to announce a collaboration with Alessio’s Cafe for the debut of our very own Hoboken Girl Breakfast Sandwich — all to highlight a local non-profit that does amazing work in the Hudson County Community. In honor of Women’s History Month, ‘The Hoboken Girl’ will be available at the Alessio’s locations (539 Park Avenue in Hoboken + 99 Franklin Street in Jersey City) locations starting on March 1st, and will be sold through the end of the month. 100% of The Hoboken Girl’s portion of the sales will be donated to the York Street Project, a Jersey City non-profit combating poverty in the area.  Read on to learn more about the collaboration which has been in the works for months and what to expect — including more information about our samples + taste-testing event on March 8th at the Hoboken Alessio’s location.

The Details

We have been working on this collaboration for months, and are so excited to *FINALLY* share the details with you. The entire HG team has been working with Alessio’s on the ingredients and has taste-tested multiple versions of sandwiches before picking our favorite one — and we can confirm that it’s delicious (and gluten-free, if you want it to be!)

Harborside Sport + Spine

Where to get it:

Hobbs Inc
  • 539 Park Avenue, Hoboken, New Jersey
  • 99 Franklin Street, Jersey City Heights, New Jersey

*Breakfast is served from 7AM-3PM

The sandwich will be available at both Alessio’s locations for the entire month of March, and we will also be hosting a taste-testing event on Friday, March 8th from 11AM-1PM for locals to try it out.

Ingredients:

‘The Hoboken Girl’ breakfast sandwich consists of:

  • Scrambled eggs
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Caramelized onions
  • Avocado
  • Homemade crispy hashbrowns (gluten-free*)
  • Jalapeno + avocado aioli

This can be served on sourdough bread or a wrap.

The bread or wrap can be substituted to be gluten-free*

There are also dairy-free options available (no cheese).

The sandwich as stands is vegetarian.

*Not confirmed as 100% Celiac-certified, so if Celiac, proceed with caution.

Alessio’s also recommends adding breakfast sausage or bacon to the sandwich.

We will be donating 100% of our portion of the sales to the York Street Project.

About Alessio’s

Alessio’s, which has a location at 539 Park Avenue in Hoboken and 99 Franklin Street in Jersey City, is an Italian pizzeria and cafe that serves up everything from coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries to pizza, paninis, and gelato. Owner Luca Infantino was born and raised in Italy and moved to the United States in 2011. After living in Weehawken, Luca fell in love with Hoboken and paved his way in the fashion industry before taking the jump into food service and opening up the Hoboken location in 2020. The Jersey City location opened this past summer, and Luca shared with us that the cafe’s next project will be opening a location in Hoboken’s Northwest Resiliency Park this spring. Alessio’s also has two kiosks in Pier A Park during the summer months.

Alessio’s — named after Luca’s son — has quickly become a staple in the Mile Square and is known for its authentic Italian products and the real feel of an Italian cafe. The spot prides itself on the quality of its food, customer service, and being involved in the community. “We are proud to be a “community-based” business, a safe place for children, students, families. Alessio’s always supports charity requests, events sponsorship, etc,” Luca shared, “Partnering up with The Hoboken Girl has been a dream come true.”

York Street Project is a non-profit 501(c)3 based in Jersey City whose mission is to build programs that help women and their families who may be experiencing different barriers such as homelessness, lack of child care, and who are in need of services and social work support. The non-profit has a number of different programs for its guests that are designed to provide the life skills and resources needed for independent living — including two on-site locations as well as apartments within the community. Over 70% of guests who complete programs with YSP are living on their own and doing very well.

HG will be donating 100% of our portion of the sales to this incredible non-profit.

Volunteer options and an Amazon wishlist can be found on the organization’s website.
