There’s no doubt that 2024 has been New Jersey’s very own “Hollywood era”. The energy-filled streets of Hoboken and Jersey City in particular have served as backdrops for several major filming projects recently. This year alone, we’ve had dozens of celebrity sightings in town, including Gen Z’s ultimate crush, Timothée Chalamet who spent time in the area while shooting  A Complete Unknown a biopic about iconic musician, Bob Dylan. If you’ve seen the trailer for the upcoming film, chances are locals can spot a few familiar storefronts, including Little City Books which will be hosting a musical event titled Little City Dylan in honor of its inclusion in the film. Read on for more about the store’s appearance in A Complete Unknown and the upcoming event.

About Little City Books + Little City Dylan

Little City Books, an independent bookstore located at 100 Bloomfield Street in Hoboken, transformed into a 1960s-themed record store this June for the filming of A Complete Unknown. The collaboration was one of many that took place during filming around town. Storefronts and eateries alike such as Snapdragon Coffee, Moran’s, Miss America Diner, and the White Mana Diner were also included in the filming. Little City Books shared via Instagram behind-the-scenes peeks at the jaw-dropping, detail-oriented transformation. Aside from Little City Books’ new movie-star role, the shop hosts monthly community events and has a wide selection of books ranging from new releases and children’s books to architecture, art, history, drama, cooking, gardening, true crime, sports, and more.
