Founded by brothers, Eric and Paul Silverman, the company had a vision for the abandoned factories and rundown buildings scattered throughout Jersey City’s waterfront and downtown. While driving through the Paulus Hook neighborhood in 1981, Eric spotted a fire-damaged apartment building with a collapsed roof. Following a complete renovation, all 14 apartments were rented within three weeks…and the rest is history.
Since 1981, the team has restored historic landmarks, created beautiful architecture, developed affordable housing, attracted commercial and industrial tenants while curating a diverse range of businesses, and brought creative retail ventures to Jersey City. They have supported local artists, funded programs for neighborhood students, and are continually recognized for their philanthropy and passion. SILVERMAN’s award-winning work in Hamilton Park has resulted in an urban oasis of park living complimented by shops and restaurants. The building lobby was inspired by Hamilton Park itself. The tapestry is by Brit Kleinman of Avo (@_avoavo_) of Brooklyn, NY, the concierge desk was carved from a naturally fallen Acacia tree by From Chef to Table (@fromcheftotable) of Chicago (originally Jersey City), and the Italian Terrazo is by Ann Sacks (@annsacks) natural stone and pebble forms.

We got a chance to visit the apartments last week and were blown away by the effortless style and open space in various model units. Swift & Co. debuted listings for studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences for rent, featuring custom cove lighting, in-unit washer/dryers, walk-in closets, and select homes also have private terraces with sweeping views. And of course — floor-to-ceiling windows provide unbeatable natural light and add to the spacious feeling of each apartment.
