It’s already 60% leased up in just a few weeks of being available, and on its way to being fully occupied in record time — so make sure to get a tour STAT. Here’s more about Swift & Co., the newest property from SILVERMAN in Jersey City.
Building Neighborhoods in Jersey City
What started 40 years ago as an architectural vision for Jersey City’s downtown by two NJ-born-and-raised brothers has grown into a deep affection for its diverse, dynamic residents.
‘Building Neighborhoods’ is more than the SILVERMAN tagline— it’s their commitment to Jersey City. Founded by brothers, Eric and Paul Silverman, the company had a vision for the abandoned factories and rundown buildings scattered throughout Jersey City’s waterfront and downtown. While driving through the Paulus Hook neighborhood in 1981, Eric spotted a fire-damaged apartment building with a collapsed roof. Following a complete renovation, all 14 apartments were rented within three weeks…and the rest is history.
Since 1981, the team has restored historic landmarks, created beautiful architecture, developed affordable housing, attracted commercial and industrial tenants while curating a diverse range of businesses, and brought creative retail ventures to Jersey City. They have supported local artists, funded programs for neighborhood students, and are continually recognized for their philanthropy and passion. SILVERMAN’s award-winning work in Hamilton Park has resulted in an urban oasis of park living complimented by shops and restaurants. Nearby, in the bustling Grove Street area, residents enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the heart of downtown.
The building lobby was inspired by Hamilton Park itself. The tapestry is by Brit Kleinman of Avo (@_avoavo_) of Brooklyn, NY, the concierge desk was carved from a naturally fallen Acacia tree by From Chef to Table (@fromcheftotable) of Chicago (originally Jersey City), and the Italian Terrazo is by Ann Sacks (@annsacks) natural stone and pebble forms.
We got a chance to visit the apartments last week and were blown away by the effortless style and open space in various model units. Swift & Co. debuted listings for studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences for rent, featuring custom cove lighting, in-unit washer/dryers, walk-in closets, and select homes also have private terraces with sweeping views. And of course — floor-to-ceiling windows provide unbeatable natural light and add to the spacious feeling of each apartment.
But the aesthetic doesn’t stop there. Kitchens in the Swift & Co. residences feature modern cabinets, glazed ceramic tile, and stainless steel appliances. Bathrooms are designed to be a calming, earth-inspired space using natural tones and ocean blue for a spa-like experience.
If you know the SILVERMAN family in Jersey City, you know that life at Swift & Co. comes with a unique set of amenities and local vendors — including a coworking space on the second floor of the building related to the popular Andco space.
This new workspot, Allo Co-working, will expand the definition of work-from-home for remote jobs.
Residents have access to multiple shared outdoor terraces, health club membership including an indoor lap pool, and an activity-based contemporary rooftop lounge with views of the Manhattan skyline.
Located just one block from Hamilton Park, residents at Swift & Co. are within walking distance of restaurants like the newly-opened Chickie’s (where GP’s used to be), Milk Sugar Love, The Hamilton Inn, New Thanh Hoai, Ed & Mary’s, and Hamilton Pork. Nearby bars, farmer’s markets, and shopping make this community a vibrant place to live.
As with much of the area, the neighborhood also boasts easy access throughout Hudson County and to New York City thanks to the Newport and Grove Street PATH stations.
The leasing office is located at 220 Ninth Street in Jersey City.
