Let’s face it, the price of beauty is sky high and has only gotten more expensive over the last decade, especially in New Jersey. With different trends on the rise {most of which, many of us can’t even keep up with before they are yesterday’s news}, salons in Hoboken are always stepping up their game and providing exceptional service to their clientele. Plus, many salons offer discounts when you book with a new talent {junior} stylist. So many of these salons have incredible hands-on programs where they can work under a master stylist and learn the ins and outs of the biz. Many salons also offer discounts if you are a first-time customer, business owner, or an employee in their building as well, but many people are unaware of these discounts. We’ve rounded up a few top-notch salons that offer such discounts, as many readers have been asking.

Read on to discover affordable hair salons in Hoboken that not only will get you a great cut, but won’t break the bank, either. {And affordable is of course, relative, but these are an A+ list of places we’d recommend/go ourselves.}

Up and Out {1106 Washington Street}

Vepo Clean

Many people don’t know this, but the uptown Up and Out Salon offers discounted rates if you book an appointment with junior stylist, Ana. As with many salons, prices range depending on the level of experience of the stylist. Booking with a junior stylist can save you nearly 50%. A single process color and a full glaze refresher with a master stylist could cost you upwards of $100, but with a junior stylist, it can cost just $65. The quality of the service provided is top of the line, just as you would expect at Up and Out.

TONI + GUY is an upscale salon in Hoboken that also has a tiered group of stylists based on their education level as well as years of service within the salon. The salon believes that the best way to give clients the best experience is to continuously learn and practice new techniques. This place is all about consistent, high-class results and that is exemplified on all levels at TONI+GUY. Services booked with hairstylists at the art director level {junior} are discounted, with women’s cuts starting at $70 and $60 for men. Mad On Jacks is proud of its junior stylist program that allows new talent to gain experience and form relationships with clients. “These junior stylists often do senior quality work and we want to get them out on the floor,” Jack told HG. The salon currently has two junior stylists that work full time — Sundays, too. Being a Paul Mitchell salon allows these up-and-coming stylists to use high-quality products in an enriching environment filled with other master stylists. Think about it, a cut with a senior stylist runs about $75 where one with a junior stylist is $65. These cuts always include a blowout, which could run you upwards of $40 at other salons.

Two 01 Hair {404 14th Street}

We love this uptown gem of a salon, tucked away from it all on 14th street. Ashley Branda and her team of stylists are top-notch, with years of experience. While they currently do not have any junior stylists on the floor, Ashley does offer 15% off for Hoboken Girl readers. So, mention Hoboken Girl for a discount and get ready to look your best.

Although new to the Hoboken area, she is definitely not new to the salon scene and came stacked with a ton of experience as a stylist in Florida + Jersey. The salon offers a 20% discount when you book with Kam Tuesday through Thursday.
