Living in cities like Hoboken and Jersey City, no weekend is ever the same. New events take place either daily, weekly, or monthly. From an artist hosting an opening reception of a new exhibit to pop-up markets and more, our events calendar has it all. The Hoboken Girl has been a weekly events guide for the Hoboken and Jersey City communities to stay in the know of what’s taking place locally each week. Readers and event organizers have been able to email their events for potential inclusion — but, we have made the process quicker and easier. Our self-service events calendar is a NEW feature on our site — giving readers the chance to view upcoming events, and event hosts to post their events for free — before our weekly events article goes live on TheHobokenGirl.com and shared on our socials. Read on to learn about this new website feature and how to submit an event to HG’s new events calendar.

About HG’s New Events Calendar

The Hoboken Girl will still be releasing a weekly events guide that displays all of the events taking place in Hoboken, Jersey City, and the greater New York City + New Jersey areas. If looking to plan ahead, the new events calendar feature will showcase events happening during the current week, throughout the month, and beyond. Readers will have the chance to scroll down the calendar and take a look at all kinds of events in our area.

It’s always been FREE to include your event on our site, but now event hosts can do so on their own.

There’s also a bar on the events calendar where keywords can be typed in. Words like “farmers market” or specific locations like “Jersey City” can be typed in to narrow down your search. The HG events calendar will take readers to relatable searches for the keyword. There are so many events already live, which makes the calendar easy to browse and help with future weekend plans.

How to Submit an Event

When it comes to submitting events to the calendar, readers and event organizers can click here. Information needed for submission includes the title, as well as a short description that includes the location, date, and time. Users can also submit a photo/flyer and a link to the event.

Event categories can be added using the ones available on the HG events calendar. Examples of categories include lifestyle, kid-friendly, pet-friendly, food + drink, and entertainment. If there’s a link to an event, there is a section to include that information. The cost of the event can also be included — if the event is free, users can enter “0” or leave the space blank.

Once done filling out all event information, there is a button that says “Submit Event.” The events calendar will take users to a “Thank You” page. As always, every week the events guide will still be released and display all of the events happening from Thursday to Sunday, weekdays, kid-friendly, pet-friendly, and greater New York + New Jersey areas.

*Hoboken Girl LLC has complete discretion over whether to publish your User Submissions and we reserve the right to monitor, edit, remove, or delete any User Submissions for any reason.
