Travel enthusiasts, this one’s for you. This is the travel club that brings people together. This club takes local trips to beaches, small towns, farms, seasonal farmers markets, trails, festivals, fairs, cultural events, and much more. All upcoming trips are listed on the group’s website, and each outing has an agenda planned and transportation arranged. While this club is free to join, some trips require tickets to be purchased ahead of time. This club has been designed to bring people who love to explore together to discover new towns, see new places, and most importantly, meet new friends. These trips are held most weekends with a starting point in Hoboken.

The Hoboken Sailing Club has a variety of membership packages for all skill levels, whether this is your first time sailing or your one hundredth, they can find a spot for you. Here, you will learn how to sail, the ins and outs of the trade, socialize with other sailors, and even participate in races along the water. The sailing season runs from April to October, with weekly races in the summer and frequent social events for club members.

This women-only walk club meets twice a week to walk along the waterfront while making new friends and exercising while you do it. The walks are completely free to attend; you can come along or bring a friend. Dogs and cute babies are also encouraged to join. Walks start along Pier A, go through Maxwell Park and back down to Pier A. The group meets on Sundays at 12PM and Wednesdays at 7PM. The best way to stay up to date with weather-related schedule changes is via the group’s Instagram.

Hoboken Hooker Fishing Club | Hoboken

This club began as just a group of friends doing what they love: fishing. As interest grew, they decided to form a club. This club has monthly meetings at Elysian Cafe on Washington Street and is a relatively informal club. This is a club for people to get together along the pier and catch some fish. The club organizes fishing charters throughout the year.

Jersey City + Hoboken Hiking Club  | Hoboken, Jersey City, + Other Locations 

Hikers meet up multiple times a month to get together, explore, and discover new friendships, trails, and more. Each meetup provides public transit and carpool rides to get to the hike. All upcoming events are posted on Meet Up.

Hoboken Cricket Club | Hoboken

Having just celebrated their 25th year, the Cricket Club is always looking for new members to join its four teams. There are tournaments and a variety of games throughout the season. New members have to pay a small membership fee in order to join, and can join a team based on their age group. Hoboken Golf League | Hoboken

You don’t have to be an avid golfer in order to join this club. The Hoboken Golf League is a community for golfers of all levels within 50 miles of NYC; so come one, come all. Golfers who enjoy a tournament-style competition can also sign up for upcoming tournaments for a chance to take home the trophy.

Volo Sports provides a wide variety of adult sports leagues around Hoboken and NYC. Some teams on offer include volleyball, skiball, basketball, bowling, kickball, pickleball, soccer, and many more. Founded in 1912, this soccer club offers both men’s and women’s soccer teams. This is a competitive soccer club offering different age group teams, club culture, and is always open to new members. During soccer season, they usually meet on Wednesday nights at Laurel Hill Park in Secaucus.

This club features a new dinner every month with great company and a fabulous way to make new friends. For the Girls + Co. | Hoboken

This Hoboken club was founded by a local resident and brands itself as “more than just a book club.” In addition to the usual book club activities, For the Girls + Co. also has watch parties, album release parties, and other get-togethers.

Hoboken Ukulele Appreciation Society | Hoboken

The Hoboken Ukulele Appreciation Society is “Hoboken’s premiere beginner ukulele circle.” No ukulele or ukulele experience is required, and the club meets every Thursday at 7:30PM at bwe kafe.

Zen Meditation Group | Hoboken

All are welcome to  Zen Medication Club every Sunday at 9AM via Zoom. You can meditate in the comfort of your own home with a quick 14-minute introduction equipped with instructions, then two 20-minute meditation sessions with a short break in between. Afterward, you can stay for a 25-minute discussion if you’re feeling up for it. New members and beginners are always welcome.

Lunch Club | Jersey City 

If you enjoy smaller group discussions, discovering new local restaurants, and being around new people, then this is the club for you. This Lunch Club meets up every couple of weeks to explore a “secret restaurant.” The restaurant of choice is not announced until closer to the event date. This BYOBook group is celebrating 10 years in Hoboken. This group is a great fit for those who want to read, but still be social about it.. You actually don’t even have to be reading. You can journal, paint, sketch, write, etc., as long as you’re doing it silently and in a way that is not distracting to others. This club is an excellent way for introverts to meet people of similar interests. The club meets multiple times a month in various places around Hoboken. Run Clubs

Chilltown Street Club | Hoboken + Jersey City

This Jersey City-based club will keep your body moving and your blood flowing. The group’s focus is  on empowering movement, community building, and supporting local businesses. It meets every Monday night at 6:45PM, snow, rain, or shine. The club departs from Departed Soles, located at 150 Bay Street, Jersey City, and runs four miles to either Water’s Soul or Hoboken Terminal.

The Hoboken Track Club welcomes all runners to join their club, no matter their experience level or pace. Whether you have a goal in mind, are training for a big race, or just want to see if you enjoy running, this is the club for you. It meets every Thursday night at 7PM upstairs at Black Bear Bar and Grill, at 205  Washington Street, and runs four miles along the beautiful Hoboken waterfront. Following each run, everyone is welcomed to stick around for some social time with food and drinks. Runners of all skill levels are welcome and the club provides coat and bag storage.

Fleet Feet Run Club | Hoboken 

This group run is a great fit for those of all skill levels. The Fleet Feet Fun Run Club hosts weekly group runs on Wednesdays at 7PM. Whether you want to run as fast as you can to beat your personal best, take a jog around the neighborhood, or fall anywhere in between, this club is for you. This three-mile run begins at 604 Washington Street and provides bag check, water fill-ups, and a bathroom.
