A hidden gem on Jackson Street in Hoboken has closed its doors. Byrd, a New American restaurant located at 800 Jackson Street, is now listed as permanently closed on Google just a little under a year after it opened in the Mile Square. The restaurant was from the same team behind Millburn’s Common Lot, and was known for its seasonal dishes and wine list. Read on for what to know about the closure, as well as what we will miss about Byrd in Hoboken, New Jersey.
The Closure
A Hoboken Girl reader first brought Byrd’s potential closure to our attention via DMs shortly before 1:30PM on Monday, March 17th, 2025 — saying they heard Byrd restaurant had closed.

Further investigation led us to notice that Byrd is now listed as permanently closed on Google. See the screenshot below:
As of 5:45PM on Monday, March 17th, Byrd’s website is no longer working and reservations are unavailable on Resy.
On the morning of Tuesday, March 18th, a HG reader flagged with us that they received a text about their upcoming reservation, which said “Regrettably, Byrd Restaurant has closed its doors on Saturday 15th March, which means we have had to cancel your future booking. Apologies for the inconvenience. Byrd Team.”
The Hoboken Girl has reached out to Byrd about the closure and this post will be updated with any further comments. The closure comes just a little under a year after the restaurant’s debut in Hoboken.

The casual, family-friendly, New American dining spot in Hoboken put a refreshing twist on dining and was known for its seasonal menu and curated wine list. Visitors could find dishes like salmon sashimi, roasted acorn squash, spinach + ricotta stuffed chicken breast, sticky Asian ribs, and more on the menu.
