It can be argued that Hoboken and Jersey City, which quickly embrace the latest trends and boast all kinds of chic clothing stores, is the fashion capital of New Jersey. Here at The Hoboken Girl, we tend to think so. In fashion-related news, a popular Hoboken-based boutique, a X d, recently announced its move to a new location at 730 Washington Street in the former Dune + Salt space. The new site will be just down the street from the company’s sister store — Alba Boutique — and will soft open on Friday, March 28th. Read on for what to know about a X d moving to a new storefront in Hoboken, New Jersey.

The Details

No longer will Hoboken fashionistas find a X d at its 503 Washington Street location, which it has called home since 2019. The well-loved boutique, known for its affordable yet trendy clothing and accessories, is moving to a new storefront in the Mile Square.

The team behind a X d previously confirmed with The Hoboken Girl that the new location will be located at 730 Washington Street in the former Dune + Salt space, just a few doors down from its sister company Alba Boutique at 716 Washington Street. Now, we know that a X d will host its soft opening on Friday, March 28th on Washington Street.

A fresh addition that locals can look forward to is a studio in the back of the space dedicated to The Little Charm Bar, a jewelry company that has previously set up shop at Alba Boutique. By featuring The Little Charm Bar, locals will have a space to build and customize their own charm bracelets and necklaces, as well as hold private events.

“We are beyond thrilled to be able to have everything that we love so much from @shopataxd @albaboutique  @littlecharmbar on the same street,” a X d posted on Instagram.

About a X d

^ Alba Boutique

Owner Jeanna Palumbo is no stranger to the fashion scene in Hoboken. Her first concept, Alba Boutique, was founded in 2013 through her “love for style and connection,” and as a tribute to her mother Dawn, according to the shop’s website.

a X d, Alba Boutique’s sister brand, first started as a pop-up shop but was then established as a brick-and-mortar store in 2019. At its 503 Washington Street location, a X d has provided locals with stylish clothing pieces for under $100 for the past six years.

“The identity of a X d is so different than Alba, which carries our more premium collections and neutral color palettes,” Jeanna told HG in a previous article. “You will walk in and feel it right away since everything is bright, vibrant, and fun. It is a really colorful and inviting space.”
