Tessa Receives International Baccalaureate World School Status

Tessa International School is the first trilingual school in Hoboken and the NY area and the first school in New Jersey to offer both the internationally recognized IB PYP and French National Program. Since its opening in December 2017, Tessa International School has experienced rapid growth, adding a Mandarin track, Nursery and Primary Grades to its programs.  In November 2022, Tessa International School was officially authorized as an IB World School for the Primary Years Programme by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). The International Baccalaureate is a not-for-profit foundation, which offers high quality and challenging educational programs for a worldwide community of schools. 

The school also received the accreditation of the French Ministry of Education for its French nursery, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten classes in September 2022. The French Accreditation leads in innovative teaching methods and has one of the world’s largest educational networks. These schools embrace the universal values of tolerance, humanism, equal opportunity, intellectual curiosity, and critical thinking. 

What to Expect at Tessa

The curriculum at Tessa International School combines the official French curriculum and the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Program which creates academic + social growth opportunities for its students. This dynamic and goal-oriented program provides children with the skills to challenge themselves in an environment that holds them to the highest academic standards. 

The Tessa team is a multi-cultural community of energetic + experienced education professionals who are deeply invested in their work. Tessa teachers are highly credentialed and experienced instructors from the United States, France, Spain, China, Mexico and other Spanish, Chinese and French speaking countries. Tessa also offers after school classes to the public in Russian, Spanish, French, Mandarin and Hindi + a full immersion summer camp.

World Citizens in Training

Tessa accepts students as young as two years old and provides 80% immersion for Spanish, Mandarin and French programs while incorporating best practices from around the world for students up to 5th grade with a shift to 50% language immersion and English enrichment. Tessa is an IB World School and follows the International Baccalaureate in conjunction with the official French curriculum. The school aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and respectful citizens of the world.
