Rita’s Italian Ice + Frozen Custard | 121 Washington Street

Buongiorno Gelateria d’Italia 1972 has a ton of unique gelato flavors + an assortment of toppings to adorn your gelato creation. Some highlights include Ferrero Rocher and Dubai chocolate, which are all freshly made and created with its original Italian recipe.

Crema | 1 Duncan Avenue

This cozy cafe in McGinley Square has doubled as a dessert and breakfast spot since 2018. Crema offers a wide variety of flavors from the classic taste of vanilla to strawberry cheesecake and caramel truffle. It also serves up a double shot espresso milkshake as an energizer and sweet tooth satisfier. 

Dahlia’s Ice Cream Spot | 290 Central Avenue 

This JC shop has been serving frozen treats since the 1980’s. Original owner Dahlia closed the shop in fall 2025, but her son Craig Fernandez re-opened the shop in April 2026. The shop has the same welcoming vibes and fun flavors, plus ice cream cakes and other goodies. 

Downtown Yogurt | 126 Newark Avenue

Downtown Yogurt has been a longtime froyo spot in downtown. There is no need to stick to 1 or 2 scoops; instead, you can opt for a mix of different swirls of flavors. For the lovers of all things tart, the pineapple Dole Whip Float is a popular item.

Gia Gelato + Cafe | 281 Newark Avenue

Located near West Side Station, this spot serves up a fun twist on bubble tea by adding a scoop of handcrafted gelato—and dubbing it the boba’lato. Jersey + Co. Gelato also has specialty drinks like a gelato milkshake and affogato blend.
