Nestled on the quiet corner of 4th and Garden, Sweet is a Hoboken staple that makes many delectable treats {brownies, cookies, cupcakes, cakes, and more}. If you need some sweet treats to pick up in a pinch, have something special to order in advance, or just want to stop in for a treat and a hot drink, this is your one-stop shop.

Baking Mama {88 Hudson Street, Hoboken}

From specialty cakes to macaroons {a customer favorite} to freshly-baked cookies, Baking Mama is your go-to for all homemade, fresh sweet treats. Tina Rivera, owner and “baking mama” herself, is a stellar baker and that shows in her sweet treats.

Cake prices depend on sizing and design.

Milk Sugar Love {19 McWilliams Place, Jersey City}

Ditch the store-brought ice cream cake and blow your guests away with a unique Milk Sugar Love  creation. Check out their cupcakes, cookies, macaroons and custom ice cream cakes for your next party. Pictured above is The Chilltown — two chocolate chip cookies filled with vanilla ice cream and rolled in rainbow sprinkles.

Non-dairy options available, different ice cream flavors are available each day, ice cream cakes start at 6” for $40.

Sugarsuckle {600 Newark Street, Hoboken}

Jennifer Choi, the mastermind behind Sugarsuckle, is whipping up gorgeous sweets that are made with authentic ingredients. Her desserts have a modern finish allowing for the perfect touch to any event. Keep an eye out for her Hoboken storefront coming to downtown Hoboken this year.

Basic cakes with no design start at $50 for a 4″ round — price increases depending on size and design.

Hudson Cakery {1816 Willow Avenue, Weehawken}

This quaint shop {located right at the bottom of the Willow Avenue bridge technically in Weehawken} makes any and all sweets you might need for your occasion. From decorated cake pops, to custom cookies, to cupcakes, macarons, and cakes, everything you need is here.

Gluten-free and eggless cupcakes are available as well as gluten-free macaroons. Custom cakes can be simple or decorated how ever you’d like. Pricing depends on size, number of tiers, and type of design. 

Dulce de Leche Bakery {376 Central Avenue, Jersey City}

You might have stopped in for a nice breakfast or lunch in their cafè like setting, however, this local bakery makes gorgeous cakes to order for any occasion.

Most of the 8-inch cakes pictured on website are available daily in display case {all other sizes and special requests require a minimum of 48 hours notice}.

Insomnia Cookies {56 Newark Street, Hoboken}

If you’ve got a cookie-lover on your hands, pass on a typical cake and get them a cookie-cake from Insomnia Cookies instead. These jumbo chocolate-chip cookies are enough to please a small crowd and will satisfy any cookie-craving. They have many pre-made sugar designs to choose from depending on what you’re celebrating.

Cookie cakes are available in two sizes — mini and 10 inch, and cookies can be purchased individually or by the pack.

Carlo’s Bakery {95 Washington Street, Hoboken}

Biscotti, cookies, cannolis, pies, wedding cakes, and cupcakes are just some of the sweets you can find at this Hoboken staple. Stop in for some Italian pastries or order a speciality cake — and remember, with your Hoboken ID you can skip the line of tourists.

Online ordering is available, there are several pre-made cakes on display or you can order a special one ahead of time.

ShopRite Bakery {900 Madison Street, Hoboken}

ShopRite for a cake? Yes, you heard that right. This is probably one of the most underrated cake destinations in town — they are delishhh. If you need something special, bring in a picture of the cake you want from Pinterest and they will get to work. If you need something simple with some writing {like this mouth-watering chocolate-mousse cake pictured above}, pick one out from the case and they will write on it.

They cannot do Disney® or other copyrighted cakes; other sweets such as cookies and pastries are available.
