About Angry Archie’s

Angry Archie’s is a seafood food truck specializing in jumbo lump crab cakes that has been operating out of Jersey City since 2015, according to the website. Its co-founder and head chef, Chris Curado, opened the food truck with his cousin, Michael Ponte, after years of professional cooking experience led him to pursue his own business dreams.

Chris’ prior restaurant work included Morristown’s Copeland restaurant as well as Chakra in Paramus, Esty Street in Park Ridge, and a host of restaurants throughout Italy for a year.

Alongside Chris’ mother, Carmela — who helps handle event coordination and any baking needs — the team has grown the food truck into one of the most popular spots in and around Jersey City.

“In 2016, Archie’s won Best Food at the Food Truck Mash up at the Meadowlands, which featured hundreds of trucks competing for NJ bragging rights,” the website reads. “And in 2017, [Archie’s] took home Best Food Truck at the East Hanover Food Truck Festival, solidifying themselves at one of fastest up and coming food trucks in NJ.”

Angry Archie’s has popped up at some highly-frequented local spots including Pier 13 and Smorgasburg. The business also expanded its number of trucks in 2018 and even opened a spot in the District Kitchen food court, located at 210 Hudson Street, according to Jersey DigsAnd now, Angry Archie’s is venturing into a storefront of its own.

On the menu at Angry Archie’s is (mostly) all things seafood —and it has a signature dish: jumbo lump crab cakes. The crab cake is served with crispy potatoes, spicy aioli, and citrus crema on a toasted potato bun. It also has fresh lobster rolls, crab poutine, and a chicken sandwich on the menu. There’s also lobster mac + cheese, truffle fries, potato salad, and more.

The truck’s weekly schedule — as well as online ordering options — can be found here. It also has catering options for your next event.

Opening a Brick + Mortar Shop

Angry Archie’s expanded its horizons beyond food trucks + pop-ups with its very own storefront location. The business announced via Instagram that it would be opening a brick-and-mortar location at 565 Palisade Avenue back in June 2022.
