Seafood lovers will be thrilled to know that Jersey City is will be home to a new but well-known crab spot, Crab Du Jour. The restaurant will be located at 125 18th Street inside the Newport Plaza in between Papa John’s and Popeyes. If the name sounds familiar, it might be because the cajun seafood restaurant has locations in popular cities in and around the area including Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, North Bergen, and Springfield – to name a few. The restaurant has two versions, the standard Crab Du Jour and the Crab Du Jour Xpress. Jersey City will be getting the Xpress version that includes grab-and-go options as well as indoor dining.
Crab Du Jour prides itself on, “Delicious home-style seafood with generous portions is what you can expect with every meal.”

The Xpress menu offers convenient grab-and-go options for guests inspired by classic cajun recipes. The crab, crawfish, calamari, and lobster are made fresh daily.

Apps include hush puppies, onion rings, calamari, fried pickles, wings, and fried mozz sticks. The eatery offers “Baskets” of chicken tenders, fried flounder, fried shrimp, fried oysters, and wings.

The po’ boy options include the same proteins – chicken tenders, fried flounder, fried shrimp, and fried oysters.
The “Pick Your Catch” section of the menu gives patrons the option to pick between the many protein options served in a bag with their choice of seasoning and spice level and comes with a side of two pieces of corn and two pieces of potatoes. This protein includes several types of crab, lobster, crawfish, shrimp, mussels, and more.

The “extras” include cajun, sweet potato, and regular fries, as well as broccoli, potatoes, and corn.
Crab Du Jour joins Papa John’s, Popeyes, the Maz Challenge, ACME, Best Buy, Sally’s beauty store, and more in the Newport Plaza.
