Adoptable {Hoboken} Pets of the Week: Julez and Pumpkin

Written by:

Adoptable Pets of the Week from the Liberty Humane Society are here! Furry friends in Jersey City looking for a good home — will it be yours?

Woof! Hi there! My name is Julez, and I am a three year old pittie/hound mix. I’m a medium-sized, slightly stocky girl who weighs around 55 lbs. I’m also quite a beauty … my human friends say that my gorgeous markings and stunning eyes make me a real showstopper. I was surrendered along with my doggie brother, Teddy, when our family was forced to move. In our home, Teddy and I lived with very young children, and even in the stress of a shelter environment, I have shown myself to be excellent around kids of all ages.

I am gentle, affectionate, obedient, and a real breeze to handle. I barely tug on my leash at all! I have wonderful manners and don’t jump or nibble or act silly. I’m truly an A+ girl! I would absolutely love to go to another home with kids. I would be a super doggie nanny or big sister. That would be the best! I am playful and enjoy romping after my toys, but I easily share them — as well as my food and treats — as soon as I’m asked. I am a good doggie!

While I get along great with some dogs, I seem selective about my doggie company. I am comfy around some pups and stiff and avoidant with others. If you have a doggie of your own at home, please bring him or her along with you when you come to visit. Maybe we’ll hit it off!

This affectionate gal readily makes friends with people of all ages wherever she goes. For more on adoption of Julez, click here.

Pumpkin is a gorgeous adult female, about 2 years old, with complex tortoiseshell fur patterns and a deep, abiding love on having her head scratched. Reach into her cat condo {yes, we gave her a condo at LHS!} and she ducks her head right under your hand, letting you know she wants you to pet here right there, please, thank you. Calm and affectionate, Pumpkin would make a great addition to any household!
