Charity Quest is a free app connecting locals to volunteer opportunities and community events in one easy place.

Hoboken Boys and Girls Club | 123 Jefferson Street, Hoboken

Hoboken Boys and Girls Club supports kids from kindergarten through 12th grade in building academic, social, and emotional skills. People can volunteer as an after-school program assistant, sports coach, tutor, or mentor to provide positive guidance and encouragement.

The Station Hoboken

This all-volunteer nonprofit provides free water sports programs and access to local waterways. Programs are donation-based, run entirely by volunteers, and spots are limited, with a $10 reservation donation required. 

Hoboken Division of Cultural Affairs |

Part of the City of Hoboken, this team brings arts + culture to the community through seasonal events and programs. Winter classes, which began December 17th, include art, dance, drama, sewing, and music for kids and teens of all abilities. Volunteers can assist with classes, events, and program coordination.

Hoboken Family Alliance (HFA) | 121 Newark Avenue Suite-529, Jersey City

HFA supports families through philanthropy, civic initiatives, special needs programs, parenting events, and educational support. Winter brings the annual “Cabin Fever” celebration, usually held in February (date TBD), along with other events where volunteers can help plan, set up, and engage with the community.

Celebrating Hoboken’s rich history and culture, the museum offers flexible volunteer opportunities. Tasks include event setup, registration, hosting garden + house tour sites, or helping with merchandise sales. 

Hoboken Shelter | 300 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken 

The Hoboken Shelter provides meals, shelter, and support services for those seeking housing. Currently, as of winter 2026, volunteers can assist in the Career Development Program, helping residents write resumes, apply for jobs, and take steps toward new careers. Additional roles include helping in the kitchen, laundry, office, or at special events.

Since 1964, HOPES has offered programs addressing social, educational, and training needs. Volunteers can contribute to community and early childhood programs, and this winter, Adult and Senior Creative Wellness programs take place every Thursday.

Volunteers of the Hudson County American Red Cross provide support during disasters, assist military members and families, staff blood drives, and teach lifesaving skills like CPR and water safety.
