Flexible Mental Health Services at Anchor Therapy
Anchor Therapy was founded as a solo practice by psychotherapist Courtney Glashow, LCSW. Five years later, the team consists of eight psychotherapists who are fully licensed and passionate about helping others with their mental health journeys. For those who prefer meeting face-to-face, the practice is currently seeing clients at the Hoboken office and accepting new patients. New clients should fill out this form to schedule an appointment.
The intake coordinator at Anchor Therapy responds to every person who submits a form. Each client is paired with a counselor who will be the best fit for them. If Anchor Therapy does not have a therapist that will be a good fit, the intake coordinator will provide a referral for another practice.
Thanks to telehealth services, Anchor Therapy psychotherapists can also meet virtually with clients who live in New Jersey and New York, which means you can get the help you need without leaving the comfort of your own home. Not only can appointments happen virtually, but Anchor Therapy also recently expanded open hours to increase availability as well.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to own a group practice, considering how limited I was in the amount of people I could help on my own. But since then, I have hired seven other incredible therapists and together we are now able to help hundreds of clients,” Courtney told Hoboken Girl. “We recently expanded our hours so we have new availability to take on new clients, including evening times which is rare in this field.”
The Anchor Therapy office is open Mondays 9AM – 9PM, Tuesdays/Thursdays 9:15AM – 9PM, Wednesdays 8:15AM – 9PM, Fridays 9AM – 7:15PM, and Saturdays 8:15AM – 12:45PM.
Professional Therapy for Every Stage of Life
“We are able to build a strong bond and trusting relationship with children and teens so that they can express themselves comfortably in a safe and fun environment,” Courtney mentioned. “We have helped many children and their families with behavioral and emotional issues including: anxiety, agitation, low self-esteem, school issues, relationship issues, test-taking anxiety, social anxiety, sadness, and divorce.”
Family Therapy is designed to bring parents and children together in a safe environment where issues can be discussed and processed with the help of a counselor. Play Therapy helps young children process trauma and issues in a comfortable + familiar environment without the pressure of a more formal setting.
Therapy for adults can be tailored to different phases of life, including couples counseling for two people working on building a healthy relationship, group counseling for individuals needing a community of support in the therapy experience, LGBTQIA+ counseling for those in the community or seeking to be allies, and postpartum counseling for new parents.
Anchor Therapy also provides therapy designed for specific issues like learning to thrive with anxiety, processing lived trauma, coping with depression, overcoming addiction + substance abuse, and more generally navigating life transitions that can impact mental health.
The practice specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as other modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Parent-Child Interaction, Acceptance + Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, which are implemented based on the different needs of each client. The mental health counselors at Anchor Therapy are trained and certified in a variety of therapies so the best approach is available to every individual.
“At Anchor Therapy, our mission as counselors is to help people feel relief from whatever stress they’re struggling with,” Courtney said. “Our therapists’ goal is to be the person that you and your family can rely on to help you get through a difficult time and to help you feel like your best self.”
