Upscale waterfront dining has long been a staple of New York and New Jersey living. The Feathered Fox, located along the Hudson River inside Jersey City’s Maritime Parc event venue at 84 Audrey Zapp Drive, sets itself apart as a modern steakhouse and seafood restaurant that is welcoming to all. After a five-month-long renovation, the space officially opened on Wednesday, June 4th, and the team is eager to entertain guests. Read on to learn more about The Feathered Fox in Jersey City and its menu, events, and concept.
About The Feathered Fox
The Feathered Fox, owned by Marc Haskell and Executive Chef Christopher Siversen, was previously located in Livingston, New Jersey, but is now making its mark in Jersey City.
In its previous iteration, the restaurant was known for its locally sourced ingredients, extensive wine list, imported sushi, craft cocktails, and expertly charred steak cuts and chops. At its new waterfront location, guests can enjoy those same elements with the added pleasure of the incredible view.

The decor, designed by Christian Arkay-Leliever, includes multiple homages to its titular fox, an animal known for its symbolism of cleverness and wisdom.

The space invokes art deco elegance indoors with a coastal-town feel in its outdoor space. The Feathered Fox is a memorable setting for weddings, corporate events, and private parties of up to 1,000 guests. In its first week, the team will host a private event for the Pokémon GO Fest.
Even on a rainy day when the view may be obscured, diners can still enjoy the beautiful interior. Details like the use of Japanese charred wood walls beside the bar, mimicking the texture of crème brûlée, are fun to notice, and digital graphics on LCD screens from a New York Times designer add levity.
The Feathered Fox makes the idea of the steakhouse its own by departing from hyper-masculine motifs, instead opting for pops of color, including its signature chartreuse benches and English tavern-style dinnerware.
The outdoor terrace at the new Jersey City location is a welcoming space for ‘dock and dine’ patrons who can tie up their boats and enjoy a meal at The Feathered Fox. The dinner and dessert menus are available Wednesday through Sunday, and a special brunch menu is available on Sundays.
The Drinks
Behind the 15-seat bar and cocktail menu is Head Bartender and Mixologist Erin Green. Erin’s concoctions expertly infuse the aesthetics of the space in drinks like the “citrus-forward” Yellow Bee, combining tequila and yellow chartreuse aligning with the chartreuse accents of the restaurant interior, or the Feathered Fox Manhattan, which uses rye and black cherry acting as a “nod to tradition with an elevated presentation.”
Beverage Director Jette Starniri shared information about the restaurant’s 1,000-bottle wine cellar, which has a curated list from whites such as Gruner Veltliner from Austria’s Niederösterreich to reds including the Syrah from Stolpman Vineyards. Describing the wine list, the restaurant says, “With Old World charm and New World dynamism, the program invites discovery through both glass and provenance, while offering something for everyone.”
History Behind The Concept
The Hoboken Girl chatted with Chef + Owner Chris Siverson, who shared that some of his staff have been with him since previous ventures, even before 2010. Chef Chris attended the French Culinary Institute in New York City, which has since become part of the Institute of Culinary Education. French influence from his days as a student can be observed in dishes like the decadent Duck Confit Mac and Cheese, incorporating gruyère and caramelized onion, or the signature Filet Mignon.
While the restaurant leans on its ‘steak and seafood’ roots, Chef Chris told HG that vegans and vegetarians won’t be left out of the fun. He highlighted vegan sushi rolls: the Meadow Roll and the Forge Roll.
