About the F-Point
The F-Point is launching first in Hoboken and partners with independent local cafés + restaurants to help with discovery, support, and community connection. Users place orders directly through the app at participating businesses and earn points on purchases that can be redeemed throughout the entire network, creating a shared rewards network for local businesses similar to what large chains offer. The F-Point team told HG its motto is “For the love of local – Eat and Earn!” It aims to reduce the cost of dining, encouraging locals to seek out high-quality, passionately made food at independent local cafes and restaurants.
The F-Point also has a social side to it, where users can connect with others nearby for coffee meetups, dining dates, pet-dates, and more through an in-app chat and social discovery features. It also has a feature called F-Bites, which is an in-app food and social feed where users can post photos + short videos of their eats and visits around town, discover dishes visually before deciding where to go, and even earn rewards for popular posts.
The app launches today with about 10 local favorites of Hoboken cafes + restaurants, including Julietta (delicious gelato), Choc O Pain (the best quiches), Little Mingo (waffle paradise and GF!), Souzafit (healthy madness), Baking Mama (Ube cookies anyone?), Hey Coffee People (cozy!), Yuki (Israeli gem!), Gotan (Gorgeous space), Black Rail Coffee (~Romantic dates~) and more! The F-Point team shared that there are plans to expand up to 35 locations this summer.
Events + Giveaways
To celebrate its launch, The F-Point is hosting a series of events (starting today! Go download from the App Store or Play Store) from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM on select weekdays, posted in their app and on Instagram (@the_f_point). Think after-work foodie socials, giveaways, raffles, merch drops, and a chance to meet other locals. The first 100 attendees per event (new sign-ups and loyalists) will also receive complimentary items + access to giveaways and surprise rewards.
The F-Point’s upcoming events + giveaways include:
- Friday (TODAY!), May 8th: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM | FREE gelato at Julietta
- Thursday, May 14th: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM | A FREE sample waffle at Little Mingo
- Thursday, May 21st: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM | A FREE pastry at Choc O Pain
- Thursday, May 28th: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM | A FREE cookie at Baking Mama
- Wednesday, June 3rd: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM | 50% off menu items at Souzafit for Big Run Week
- Thursday, June 11th: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM | A sunset coffee social at Black Rail Coffee (FYI: this will include merch and freebies!)
Each event plans to feature a raffle as well, with two winners receiving $100 each in F-Point rewards redeemable across participating cafés and restaurants! That’s a good dinner at Gotan or a weekend brunch at Little Mingo! Expect new weekly events throughout the summer.
