“The secrets out we’re expecting! Tag a friend below you can’t wait to pig out with,” the official TCP IG account wrote, regarding their  new Jersey City location.

Previously, Jersey Digs reported that “an outpost of The Committed Pig could be coming to Exchange Place.” The article reported that a public notice that was issued demonstrated that a firm called JC Committed Pig, LLC had submitted an application with the “Alcoholic Beverage Control Board in order to have the company’s plenary retail consumption liquor license be utilized in a commercial space at 1 Exchange Place.”

Feeling ready to pig out or what? But that’s not all. This Jersey City TCP — owned by Jerry Rotunno and his business partner Tony Monteiro — will be the first of its kind with a liquor license, too. So get ready to dine, drink, and enjoy.

What’s on the Menu

The burger and pancake house is known for their, well, burgers and pancakes. But it’s more than that! Each of their dishes puts a signature twist on these traditional dishes. You won’t find any boring burgers or short stacks on this menu.

Speaking of TCP’s menu, you’ll find everything on there from fried pickle chips and a falafel burger to pork roll sandwiches and “The Pig Mac.” Of course, one jaw-dropping dish that is sure to get the attention of foodies is the Twenty Dollar Burger. Clocking in at $19, The Twenty Dollar Burger features one pound of chopped meat, American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, ketchup, and mustard served on a toasted brioche bun.

Not to mention, that doughnut burger — dubbed the Burgernut — is sure to catch your eye, too. After all, it’s an American cheeseburger served on a glazed doughnut.

According to their website, all burgers are double patties made with a Pat LaFrieda blend of short rib, hangar steak, and brisket. Additionally, burgers can be served rare, medium, or well only and there is also a gluten-free bun option. Any of the burgers on the TCP menu can be substituted for either a turkey or falafel patty and brioche buns are typically an extra $1.

On why Jersey City, Rotunno simply said that he and his time fell in love with JC. “We fell in love with Jersey City, we fell in love with that area, the traffic around that area,” Rotunno told NJ Advance Media. “Jersey City has an amazing clientele. There’s a lot of foodies there and they know their stuff.”

That’s true. Pat yourself on the back, Jersey City. We know our food {and our drinks for that matter}. Jersey City is home to a myriad of different cuisine styles — from classic Italian to savory Indian dishes, JC’s food scene is as diverse as its population, so welcoming a new burger + pancake spot is a no brainer and is a great addition to the Jersey City food scene.

Rotunno did also admit that he and Monteiro were super close to locking things down at a Hoboken location {sadly, not specified}. But it looks like the deal fell through and in the end, The Committed Pig found the perfect home in Jersey City.

While no official timeline has been released yet, Rotunno did mention that he hopes the new spot will open come late March.

So, Jersey City, the countdown begins!
