Terra E Mare, which translates to “Land and Sea,” is Jersey City’s newest upscale restaurant. This highly anticipated spot is located on the ground level of Hudson House by Landmark in Port Liberte at 2 Chapel Avenue, which serves as an event space catering to weddings. The entire building, which sits just at the Hudson River’s edge, is one out of a movie. Think – luxe, modern meets rustic vibes on the outside, and sleek, high-end vibes on the inside. What to Expect at Terra E Mare
The restaurant is vast. When guests enter the building, they are met with a dry-aging room and a two-tiered live lobster and shellfish tank – setting the mood for the experience immediately. Then, continuing down the hall and entering the main room, is a view of the entire space thanks to the open floor plan. The open kitchen and raw bar sit on the left, and an ample amount of tables line the room from left to right with a full wrap-around bar situated on the right side. Beyond the bar, the prime outdoor dining section of the restaurant awaits.

Normally we would have said that the breathtaking panoramic skyline view (we mean, full view, including Lady Liberty herself) is the best part of the new restaurant but once you’ve tried the food, you’ll agree that it is the star of the show that will keep locals coming back for more. That is all thanks to Executive Chef David C. Felton. Chef David is a seasoned Chef with many years of experience working for Landmark events.
The reason behind the name ‘land and sea’ is that Terra E Mare specializes in meats and seafood with an Italian slant.
HG had a chance to sample menu items from the menu, and it did not disappoint. Patrons can expect beautifully-presented dishes like grilled whole octopus, grilled prawns, whole roasted bass, several cuts of beef, and plenty of choices for vegetarians. There is a full raw bar daily, with East and West Coast oysters available. The Piccolo Mare and the Grande Mare are seafood-tower style appetizer platters with a selection of the day’s freshest catches.

While the event rooms are available for any kind of celebration, weddings have already been the popular events to take place there, and for good reason.

Just above Terra E Mare are two separate event venue rooms. The Grand Ballroom boasts cathedral ceilings, gorgeous chandeliers, a bar, a wrap-around porch, and of course, Manhattan skyline views.
The Hudson Room also features a bar, a wrap-around porch, and shares the same views.
There’s also an outdoor space and garden, perfect for a wedding ceremony on a warm summer’s day.
The on-site private bridal and groomsman suites are conveniently located for the bridal party to get ready on the big day.
