As of July 29th, Hoboken is home to a new halal restaurant – Tastee Platters. Located at 217 Washington Street, in the former Loquito’s storefront, Tastee Platters is now officially open to the public as the restaurant’s second location after launching in Wayne just last year. The eatery specializes in classic halal food – platters, pitas, salads, wings, and other sides. Read on to learn more about what to expect at Tastee Platters in Hoboken.
The History of the Storefront
Loquito’s was Hoboken’s first Lebanese-inspired taqueria, founded by the co-owner of Hoboken’s beloved O’Bagel. It opened in July of 2019 in what was previously Sauced. Loquito’s menu was inspired by Lebanese and Mexican cuisine which included healthy bowls, tacos, and flavorful sides.
The Lebanese taqueria went dark on social around the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and ultimately closed its doors months later.

Tastee Platters Menu
The menu is straightforward, offering the same protein options for all items.
Patrons can choose from four different platters, pitas, and salads – chicken, gyro, falafel, and a mix. All platters are served with basmati rice, lettuce, tomato, sautéed onions, a slice of pita, and white sauce. All pitas are served with lettuce, tomato, sautéed onions, and white sauce.
As a side, Tastee Platters sells wings and hummus dip. For dessert, the restaurant sells housemade banana pudding, cheesecakes, and baklava.
