Sweat + Glo also sent out an email announcing the upcoming closure. See below:

“It’s not goodbye Hoboken, it’s see you later…(or in NYC)

It is with a heavy heart that I write that we are not resigning our lease for our Hoboken location in 2024. We have outgrown our space and will be taking the next few months to focus on our New York City location, while re-evaluating a bigger and better NJ location in 2025.

We absolutely loved building this Glogetter community over the past 3 years and hope that you will come visit us in New York City. All packages and memberships can be used in Hoboken through February 4th and after that in NYC.

Monthly members will be given the option to cancel their contract at the end of Janaury. So let me end this note by saying THANK YOU. Thank you for all of the support and love over the past few years. We are grateful for each and every one of you and hope to see you soon over the river.

With love and gratitude,
Your Chief Glogetter”

The New York City storefront is located at 213 W 35th Street #305.

Sweat + Glo’s Journey to Hoboken

Hoboken’s first infrared sauna studio, Sweat + Glo, was founded by Hoboken residents Rachel and Justin Helfman. Rachel works in the advertisement industry and Justin works for the federal government. Sweat + Glo was a dream of theirs that they have since made a reality — with two locations in Hoboken and New York City.

“I have always been passionate about utilizing infrared saunas as part of my health and wellness routine. I quickly recognized a whitespace in Hoboken when I was driving to Jersey City that could be utilized as an infrared sauna. Hoboken has some of the best fitness studios, nutritionists, and med spas, so we wanted to open Sweat + Glo to complement one’s wellness journey,” Rachel told The Hoboken Girl back in 2021.

The Services

Sweat + Glo has two specific sauna experiences. The first is the “Quickie”, which is a 40-minute express sweat session that still allows you to experience all of the benefits of an Infrared session within a shorter amount of time.

The second is the “Power Hour”, which is a 60-minute session that aims to rest and recharge your body in a personal sweat suite. Burn up to 600 calories, sweat out toxins, and elevate your well-being with this session.

Customers can book one-off sessions or purchase one of the packages. The “New Client Special” provides two 40-minute sessions for $90. For a one-time sesh, a Quickie costs $50 in Sauna 1 and $55 in Sauna 2. A Power Hour costs $70 in Sauna 1 and $75 in Sauna 2.

Customers can also book a five-session pack or ten-session pack in both saunas, or choose from two types of memberships. The Glo-Up Limited Membership for $225 can be used towards six Quickies or combined sessions for an occasional Power Hour. The Glo-Getter Unlimited Membership gives customers unlimited access to Quickies or Power Hour sessions.

There is also the option to add a partner to your session for $25, or HALOone Salt Therapy for $20 — both of which are only for Sauna 2.

Sweat + Glo has two types of saunas in-house. The “single-user”, designed for a single user, the sauna is a cozy little oasis to cash in on some me-time. The “dual-user” is designed to fit up to two people. Guests have the option to enjoy the sauna session with a partner or take advantage of the extra room to lay back and relax.

The studio does not have showers but does have products on-site to give you an express refresh once you’re finished.

If you were wondering about what to wear, Sweat + Glo explains, “Whatever you’re most comfortable in! You can either wrap yourself in the towel provided, wear your swimsuit or underwear, or wear nothing at all.”

Benefits Of An Infrared Sauna

Sweat + Glo shared some of the benefits of an infrared sauna, including positive effects on the body, skin, mood, and sleep.

Body: Increased circulation, detoxification, weight loss, and immune system boosting are all benefits of infrared therapy.

Skin: Infrared therapy stimulates collagen production while healing your skin from the surface to the deeper layers, leading to long-term skin benefits.

Mood: Using an infrared sauna provides stress relief in numerous ways. It’s a warm, private space that allows for minimal outside distractions.

Sleep: You can hack your body’s thermoregulation process by warming your body in an infrared sauna then allowing it to cool down after. This quick cool-down speeds up the process for your brain to fall asleep.
