Hoboken’s Hip-Hop Festival, Summer Blockfest, Returns 8/22

Hip-hop, local food, live art, and a full day of community celebration are taking over Hoboken’s Southwest neighborhood this August. Summer Blockfest returns for its fourth year on Saturday, August 22nd, bringing performers, DJs, vendors, family-friendly activities, and more to 770 Jackson Street. About Summer Blockfest

Founded by Hoboken community advocate and cultural organizer Victor M. Lopez Jr., Summer Blockfest began as a grassroots neighborhood gathering and has grown into one of Hudson County’s largest hip-hop-focused community events.

Presented by What Hoboken Sounds Like and What Jersey City Sounds Like, the free festival celebrates local artists, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and community leaders while highlighting the culture and influence of hip-hop.

What to Expect at Summer Blockfest

The festival will run from 12PM to 7PM, with live hip-hop performances, DJ sets, food trucks, local vendors, and family-friendly activities. Attendees can also browse streetwear, artwork, vinyl, and other goods from participating vendors.

Club Pilates 2023

DJ BriPee, Mister Angel, DJ Madness, DJ Takefive, and DJ Shuffle will provide music throughout the day. N3rdy McFly will also lead a special live beat showcase.

The 2026 performer lineup includes Ray Pearson, MP14, Taz, Ill Padilla, Pootie, KingLVT, RaySpitta, School of Rock Hoboken, Chaseland, Bri Breesh, Rose Image, H100 Da Holdin Crew, Mega Modd, Frank Knight, MoBanga, Big Dart, and Victor Lopez Jr., also known as Young Emeljay, plus additional artists.

The Station Hoboken

Beyond the music, Summer Blockfest will host a Back-to-School Book Bag Giveaway in partnership with the Hoboken Public School District. The event will also include the 2nd Annual Pamela Bates Foundation Community Awards Ceremony, honoring individuals who have made a meaningful impact throughout the region.
