Sixth Street Vintage Owner Sharon Florio Reopens Her 6th Street Hoboken Storefront

The Retreat Cannabis

Side streets are what make Hoboken special, and if you’ve ever wandered down 6th Street near Adams, you’ve likely passed a storefront that’s changed hands a few times over the years at 408 6th Street. But what hasn’t changed is who’s been behind it: just last week, Sixth Street Vintage owner Sharon Florio officially reopened her vintage shop, returning fully to the space after years of leasing it out while focusing on her estate sale business. Read on for more about Sharon Florio and Sixth Street Vintage.

About Sharon Florio and Sixth Street Vintage

For longtime Hoboken residents who love a good thrift, vintage find, or estate sale, Sharon is a name that is known around the region. A local vintage retail shop owner in Hoboken for over 40 years, she has built a reputation as one of the area’s go-to vintage curators and estate sale experts with her side business Catch of the Day Estate Sales, all while maintaining her own space in the Mile Square.

Sharon’s roots in local retail go back decades: her first location was in the space that is now home to SRO, the speakeasy spot next to Anthony David’s.

Since then, she has remained a consistent presence in Hoboken’s small business community as the owner of Sixth Street Vintage. While she’s always held onto the 6th and Adams storefront, she’s spent the past several years renting the front retail space to other businesses, including the longtime, beloved Aaraaa Accessories (we miss you Neeta!), along with a rotating lineup of other small shops that came through over the years, as recently as Jannie Wolff’s Yes Gallery as of recent.

Sharon is also the force behind Catch of the Day Estate Sales, a business she operates throughout New Jersey. She’s become known for curating estate sales across the region, including in Hoboken and beyond (and if you keep yourself in the know, you may recognize her from notable sales she’s organized, including the one tied to a longtime Hoboken Historical Museum founder Jim Haans before its demolition in 2024.

As of late April, Sharon shared with The Hoboken Girl over the weekend that she has taken the space back fully as of April 29th, reopening the storefront herself and sharing a curated selection of vintage finds that she’s gotten from her own travels, research, and of course, estate sales she hosts (she goes all over the state/country with Catch of the Day!).

When you stop by the shop, you’ll find a mix of decor items, vintage furniture, and even some clothing pieces on the upper level (jeans, tops, and more). Sharon’s space is located at 408 6th Street, and for the time being, Sixth Street Vintage opens every day except Mondays and Tuesdays.

Hours are as follows:

  • Wednesday–Friday: 12PM–6PM
  • Saturday: 11AM–5PM
  • Sunday: 11AM–5PM

As for what’s next, Sharon shared with us she’s excited to return to one of her OG spaces and embrace retail shop life as she continues her estate sale curation on the side. Make sure to stop by and say hi! Side street small businesses are what make Hoboken so special, and shop owners like Sharon are what keeps the shop small spirit alive.
