Ricardo moved to Hoboken in 2007 and worked as a waiter at Elysian Cafe. He told Hoboken Girl that he would sketch scenes while working at the restaurant based on The Elysian Cafe interior and also the different customers who were like characters to him and put forward different colors.

It wasn’t long before he was making waves in the art community for his innovative designs and style of execution. In fact, his signature hand-cut and stencil spray-painted technique can be recognized anywhere. Naturally, after creating dozens of beautiful pieces that locals have gone crazy over, he was commissioned to work on larger projects in town, further leaving his mark in Hoboken.

A few years ago, he was commissioned to work on Michael Chang, Hoboken Hero, in honor of Michael Chang, the first Asian-American in the 1989 French Open and Hoboken resident. Ricardo also completed the mural of Lackawanna Station on the side of Napoli’s Pizzeria {downtown location}.
