Meet Hudson Realty Group’s Newest Sales Associate, Jacqueline Petruzzelli

We recently sat down with Hudson Realty Group’s newest agent, Jacqueline Petruzzelli, a Licensed Sales Associate, to learn all about her background, experience, and what she brings to the local team.

HG: Congratulations on your move to Brown Harris Stevens and joining Peter Cassio at Hudson Realty Group. What motivated you to join the Hudson Realty Group? What are your goals as a member of this team?

Jacqueline: Being in the industry for as long as I have as a sole agent has worked out great, but I feel, for me, it’s time to change it up a bit. I want to work alongside and collaborate with a team so that I can provide better service and options for my clients. I consider it a bit of a refresh. After much consideration, I chose to work with Hudson Realty Group.

HG: You have been selling real estate since 1996 in Hoboken with over $400 Million dollars in listing and sales as an individual agent. Tell us how you got started in the industry.

Jacqueline: My father was a real estate broker for over 50 years. Selling real estate has always been second nature to me.

HG: Do you feel Hoboken is your specialty, and do you sell anywhere else?

Jacqueline: That’s a good question. For the most part, I will really prefer to stay in Hoboken because I have encyclopedic knowledge of all the buildings, values, schools, etc. That being said, I have listed and sold in Jersey City and Weehawken for repeat clients who wanted to live in those areas or for their family members.

HG: You have represented and sold quite a few boutique, new construction projects. How did that become one of your niches and do you specialize in other aspects of real estate?

Jacqueline: I specialize and have worked in all aspects of the residential sector such as single-family homes, brownstones, and of course condos. In 2003, I sold half a city block on the west side of Hoboken to a developer who was new to the area. I spearheaded and sold out the entire project. We established an ongoing working relationship that has enabled me to gain a reputation and status with other developers in the area. Also being married to a local developer also helps with my knowledge of new construction and real estate in general.

HG: How do you cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with your clients?

Jacqueline: I understand that buying a home is one of the bigger investments that most will make in their lifetime. This investment is also their home. I feel it has to be the right fit across the board, so I try to educate my buyers and never push them into a decision that’s not right for them. I truly want the best for my clients. I am always available should they ever need anything.

Team HG also sat down with Peter Cossio, Broker and Team Leader at Hudson Realty Group. With over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, Peter’s reputation for honesty and integrity is fundamental to his philosophy as he prides himself on serving his clients with the utmost respect, care, and professionalism.

HG: Peter, you have been responsible for some of the highest-priced properties in Hoboken as well as a majority of the high-end brownstones. What was the reason you chose Jacqueline to be on your team?

Peter: I have been fortunate and honored that so many people have placed their trust in me to sell some of the most beautiful homes in Hoboken.

Jacqueline has a great reputation in our industry and is known for leveraging her market knowledge and experience to achieve great outcomes for her clients. We are thrilled to have her join our team and we look forward to collaborating with her on all aspects of our business.


Professional Insight on the Hoboken Market

HG: How do you assess the current state and trends of the Hoboken real estate market and what are some of the factors that influence its performance and outlook?

 Jacqueline: Hoboken was previously known as a”bedroom city” for Manhattan which afforded it much more value than you could find in Manhattan. That is no longer the case. People live here now because they love the lifestyle, and it is now in a class of its own.

 HG: How do you advise your clients on the best time and strategy to buy or sell a property in Hoboken and what are some of the tools and data that you use to support your recommendations?

Jacqueline: I don’t feel that real estate in Hoboken is seasonal. Being only a mile square with a high demand there is rarely ever too much inventory. I advise my clients to buy when they see a place that fits their criteria, and we sell when they are ready to sell.

HG: How do you describe the culture and vibe of Hoboken to someone who is not familiar with it and what are some of the attractions and events that you enjoy in this city?

Jacqueline: Hoboken is a self-contained Metropolitan town that just keeps evolving. It really appeals to all age groups as well as families that are looking for the urban lifestyle.

Hudson Realty Group has become market leaders in both Hoboken and Jersey City, being named the firm’s Top NJ Team of the Yearin 2022 and 2021, and every year between 2014-2018. Peter and the HRG team continue to achieve local market sales records for Hoboken and Hudson County including sales of the highest-priced multi-family and the highest-priced condo ever sold in Hoboken.

Most recently, through his real estate development company, HGR Development, Peter has also been undertaking extensive restoration and development projects throughout Hoboken, Jersey City, and Weehawken.
