Hot girl summer had its moment in 2024, now it’s time for self-care summer 2025. Come June, Hoboken and Jersey City wellness gurus can kick off the season with a new hot and cold plunge space. The Plunge Room will be located in the Hoboken Shipyard area at 1425 Hudson Street and be the city’s first self-service luxury cold plunge and contrast therapy studio. The Details
The Plunge Room, a wellness center aiming to “[redefine] wellness one plunge at a time,” as per its website, first debuted in Englewood at 20 Nordhoff Place Suite 028 in early 2025. Now, the spot is making its way down the Hudson River to the Mile Square. Located at 1425 Hudson Street, The Plunge Room will be in the Shipyard area, bringing Hoboken its first luxury cold plunge and contract therapy studio. The spot is planning to open in June this year.

Upon opening, athletes, wellness enthusiasts, and those looking for much-needed RNR will be able to enjoy private luxury recovery suites, featuring hot and cold plunges and designed for “mental clarity, muscle recovery, and stress relief,” according to its website. There will also be a rinse station for pre- and post-cleansing, as well as special deals like the Quick Dip 20-Min Session and the Deep Dive 45-Min Session.

As of this writing, The Plunge Room is hosting a pre-sale membership. The first 30 clients will receive exclusive updates as the opening date approaches. To access the form, see here. While Hoboken members await The Plunge Room’s debut, they have access to the Englewood location.

About The Plunge Room
The Plunge Room all started with the question, “Why settle for traditional recovery methods when you can level up with cutting-edge contrast therapy?” according to the business’s website. “Unlike infrared saunas, which primarily use heat to promote relaxation and detoxification through infrared light absorption,” the website reads, “Hot + Cold Plunge Therapy leverages the superior thermal conductivity of water to deliver direct and immediate temperature changes to the body.”

With the goal of creating higher standards for all things wellness, owner and founder Andrew Mendez, a certified personal trainer, strength + conditioning coach, Muay Thai Coach + group fitness instructor, and local DJ, opened The Plunge Room’s first location in Bergen County earlier this year.
