Live Results for the 2025 New Jersey General Assembly Election

Today, June 10th, Garden State residents have cast their ballots for the 2025 New Jersey Primary Election. Along with the upcoming governor race in November, which includes Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, residents are voting for their district’s New Jersey General Assembly. There are 40 districts in New Jersey, and Hoboken and parts of Jersey City fall into District 32, where Hoboken Mayor Ravinder S. Bhalla and Hoboken Public Library Director Jennie Pu are running for a seat. Read on to see the 2025 results for the New Jersey General Assembly Election.

About the Election

Eight candidates are running for two seats on the New Jersey General Assembly to represent District 32. This includes Jessica Ramirez, Ravinder (Ravi) S. Bhalla, Katie Brennan, Crystal Fonseca, Jennie Pu, Yousef Saleh, Stephen Bishop, and Kaushal Patel.

Candidates

Jessica Ramirez (Democrat), a New Jersey General Assembly member, has been representing District 32 since January 9th, 2024. Her current term ends on January 13th, 2026, and she is running for re-election this election cycle. See Jessica Ramirez’s campaign here.

Ravinder (Ravi) S. Bhalla is Hoboken’s current Mayor and has served in this role for two terms since January 1st, 2018. He is running for the first time for a seat on the NJ General Assembly. See more on Ravinder (Ravi) S. Bhalla’s campaign here.

Katie Brennan (Democrat) is a Jersey City resident, current New Jersey General Assembly member, and former Governor Murphy Administration official. She is running for re-election this election cycle. See more on Katie Brennan’s campaign here.

Jennie Pu (Democrat) is a current New Jersey General Assembly member and Director of the Hoboken Public Library. She is running for re-election this election cycle. See more on Jennie Pu’s campaign here.

Yousef Saleh (Democrat) has been a member of the Jersey City Council, representing Ward D, since May 1st, 2020. His current term ends on December 21st, 2025. See more on Yousef Saleh’s campaign here.

New Jersey General Assembly District 32 Primary Election Results

Districts Reporting: 99%

Results: Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla and Jersey City’s Katie Brennan announced their victories for the Democratic race on June 11th, with each having 6,788 votes and 7,076 votes, respectively. On the Republican side, Stephen Bishop and Kaushal Patel ran unopposed, with Stephen Bishop receiving 56.99% of the votes (1,637 ballots) and Kaushal Patel with 40.93% of the votes (1,183 ballots).
