Staying in to watch a movie can feel like a waste of the warm summer weather, but here in Hoboken, it doesn’t have to be. Movies Under the Stars is a Hoboken summer staple, and in 2024, it officially kicked off on Wednesday, June 12th. If you’re new here, a primer: every Wednesday from June to August, the City of Hoboken plays movies in various Hoboken parks. In tandem with the initiative is Concerts in the Park, a series of live music events throughout the season. For your reference all summer long, we’ve compiled the schedules for both, complete with times and locations. Read on for this year’s Movies Under the Stars and Concerts in the Park schedule for summer 2024.
Movies Under the Stars
Movies under the Stars will be held on Wednesdays in June, July, and August at Pier A Park, Northwest Resiliency Park, 7th and Jackson Resiliency Park in Hoboken, and Hoboken High School’s Taglieri Stadium. Screenings will start at 9PM in June and July, and at 8:30PM in August.
Things to bring to a Movies Under the Stars event in Hoboken include a blanket or folding chairs, snacks, and of course friends or family to enjoy the event. The events are sponsored by Colavita pizza truck, and free pizza will be available at the July meeting 17th, July 24th, and August 14th screenings. Keep in mind that screenings may be canceled due to inclement weather.
