Picture this: twinkling lights, life-size Santas, ribbons, bows, vintage garlands, and presents hanging from the ceiling. If all that decor doesn’t get you in the Christmas spirit, then the out-of-this-world festive cocktails and a playlist of all types of Christmas tunes will. The festive concept was started in 2014 at the East Village bar, Mace. The owner of the bar, Greg Boehm transformed the location into a (now wildly-popular) holiday-themed cocktail bar – Miracle on 9th Street.
Miracle on Mercer in Jersey City is just one of the many pop-ups that holiday-themed pop-up has. The participating bars not only span across the U.S. – but also Canada, Central America, Europe, and Asia. The pop-up that started in NYC has grown considerably over the past few years, and for good reasons.
This Christmas-themed cocktail bar, located at Franklin Social, located at 292 Barrow Street in Jersey City, is back for another season. Keep reading to learn more about the magical concept that you can visit through December 31.
With 10 specialty cocktails on the menu (all with a holiday twist), there is something for everyone to sip on. Our team tried the “Elfing Around” – new Hoboken Girl favorite (prosecco, gin, mulled wine reduction, grapefruit shrub, aromatic bitters, and orange bitters) and the “On Dasher” (gin, vanilla liqueur, cardamom, black pepper, lemon, cream, egg, soda, and topped with a beautiful, toasted marshmallow). Both drinks are out of this world, and can even put the Grinch in the holiday spirit.

Some other cocktails include a Christmaspolitan, Bad Santa, Snowball Old-Fashioned, and the Christmas Carol Barrel – just to name a few.
In addition to the 10 cocktails on the menu, you can order a “naughty” or “nice” shot for you and your table. One tastes just like gingerbread, and the other – cinnamon. Try them and see where you land on Santa’s Naughty or Nice List.
If you purchase any glassware from the bar — things like holiday mugs, Christmas-themed rocks glasses, and more — 10% of all sales will be donated to Action Against Hunger, a humanitarian non-profit dedicated to helping malnourished children around the globe.

As for the food – expect the normal delicious offerings from Franklin Social. But the fondue is really a special treat during the winter months and a great shareable plate for the table. As for an entrée – guests can choose from salads, sandwiches, burgers, and other savory items on the menu. And since it’s the holiday season, you must round out the meal with dessert – and this is where their churros are a star.
