Lisa Rinna Mails Jersey City Resident Cheetah Tracksuit Worn on RHOBH

Over her 8 seasons on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Lisa Rinna is estimated to have used the phrase “own it” upwards of 30 times. The actress, TV personality, and fashion designer used the expression indiscriminately: in various conflicts with co-stars, as her Season 8 tagline (“I don’t have to buy it because I already own it”). But if we’re talking about a specific cheetah tracksuit Lisa wore on Season 11 Episode 4, she no longer owns that. Instead, after a chance Instagram encounter, Lisa Rinna packaged and shipped the outfit to a local Jersey City resident, who had been looking to purchase the set second-hand. We’ll say that sentence again, because it’s too good to be true: Lisa Rinna mailed a cheetah tracksuit worn on RHOBH to a New Jersey fan for free, just because.

The Story

On Friday, May 9th, Jersey City resident and Hoboken Girl writer Via Rutkowski took to Instagram to recount what she calls “a fashion miracle.” The miracle’s unlikely hero? Lisa Rinna.

During an RHOBH rewatch last year, Via was caught by an unassuming cheetah tracksuit Lisa wore in Season 11, Episode 8. The Pam & Gela two-piece set is something out of an early episode of Jersey Shore: a cheetah zip-up with highlighter yellow, white, and black stripes lining the sleeves and corresponding flare pants to match.

Through reverse Google Search, Via eventually purchased the pants second-hand on Poshmark, but she was never able to locate the matching top. Nearly a year later, she shared her experience in this Instagram post and, just for fun, decided to tag Lisa.

The very next day, Lisa slid into Via’s DMs and made her offer: “I have the whole outfit if you want to get the whole outfit, I have it!.” Moments later, Via was sending Lisa Rinna her Jersey City address over Instagram. The top arrived the next week.

There’s something poetic about a cheetah tracksuit crossing state borders to arrive in New Jersey. There’s something even more poetic about envisioning Lisa Rinna packaging and shipping said tracksuit to Jersey City (though, it might’ve been an assistant at work).

This isn’t the first time Lisa Rinna has shared headlines with Hudson County, either. In 2023, she visited Hoboken for a brief stay at the W Hotel, which she called “home for a bit…” on an Instagram story. She joins a long list of Bravo-lebs to pass through Hudson County, which you can read more about here.
