If you read our last news round-up of October, you already know that everyone is suuuper pumped about the recent opening of Jane DO at the Monroe Center {720 Monroe Street, to be exact, right behind Pannello!}. The team was even more pumped to be invited to the new studio for their signature trampoline class courtesy of studio owners Jacey and Danielle (ahem, former Rockettes and all around bad a$$ chicks). Read on for the deets about Jane Do’s newest location in Hoboken:

Ambiance

So, let’s start with the aesthetics. This new, very spacious spot is exactly what you’d expect from these girl-power-centric ladies: it’s chic, welcoming, and confidently feminine {yes, there’s a Betty White mural}. The entire staff is incredibly welcoming and upbeat {not to mention hilarious – see their IG stories for proof}, giving the whole place a vibe that is more akin to a party with all your best gal friends, rather than a dreaded group fitness class. The space itself is noticeably expansive, featuring two different studios, tons of cubbies, showers, and a full line of customized merchandise that changes on a seasonal basis.

Convenience

While the Monroe Center might not be the closest for the very uptown and downtown crowds {although they have *free* parking hayyyy}, it is certainly a welcome addition to the midtown neighborhood. In fact, this industrial-inspired artist and office space mecca is also home to some amazing spots in the burgeoning midtown community, including Shaka Bowl, Low-Fatt-Chow, The Turquoise Cup, and Local Barre. In other words, Jane DO should feel right at home in this up-and-coming arts and business district of the Mile Square.

Classes and Training

Jane Do’s newest location, like their first two studios in Jersey City and Edgewater, features private training, small/large group training, as well as four signature group classes on the schedule including Train Jane, Tramp Stamp, Floor Play, and Dance your A** Off. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect in each class, but just know that whichever class you choose, you will be in for a serious sweat sesh, along with a killer playlist of girl-power-inspired jams.

Train Jane: a total body workout that fuses artistry and athletics, featuring strength training and a killer combo of high/low impact cardio elements

Dance Your A** Off: a seriously intense dance cardio class that features a rotation of high/low impact sport and dance routines

Floor Play: a total body sculpting class that includes both resistance training and body weight exercises {hello, sore muscles}

Tramp Stamp: a low impact, adrenaline pumping trampoline class designed to firm and tone all over {space is limited for this one, so pre-registration is recommended}

All four of the signature classes, according to Jacey and Danielle, “fuse artistry with athletic conditioning to foster strength and suppleness.” They also describe it as “an all female fitness experience that requires NO dance experience whatsoever… a safe haven that is free of judgement and designed to lift your ass and your spirit.” The HG team can totes vouch for all that and more after taking their signature Tramp Stamp class and being told “even if you sit in the back and pick your nose — you’re here, and you’re in class, and that means something!” We’ll take it {but probably will try to jump on the trampoline a bit and keep our fingers far from our noses, mwahaha}.

Workout Difficulty

Tramp Stamp was the perfect mix of cardio-intensive bouncing and booty-focused strength training, topped off with a heart-pumping playlist and super vibey lighting to set the mood. Sounds intimidating? While the class is challenging, Jacey and Danielle made the team feel right at home with 1:1 guidance, clear demos, and not to mention some laugh-your-ass-off commentary {i.e. think Jane Fonda references and a bit of naughty humor to take the edge off}.
