Professional athletes often get their start at a very young age with support from family, friends, and a team of skilled experts who teach them essential skills like speed, strength, agility, and endurance. You can be hard-pressed to find that support within your local community — even one like Hudson County that has so much to offer. Three local parents who struggled to find a good fit for their athletically inclined kids took matters into their own hands and opened Hudson Speed which offers local residents access to a comprehensive sports training facility located close to home. Private Athletic Training in Hudson County
As the face of Hudson County continues to change, Hudson Speed is riding the same wave, catching up with the needs of the community.
“The idea for this business came out of a need for our own children. We were searching for athletic training for them and found ourselves either driving an hour away to similar facilities or hiring for private training,” Jodi Ben-Meir, co-owner of Hudson Speed told Hoboken Girl. “As our children have been getting older, we realized that there are not many programs for older children in the area. Hoboken, Jersey City and other surrounding communities have been changing exponentially in the past decade with more families choosing to stay here to raise their children in Hudson County.”
In addition to traditional athletic training for new and advanced athletes ages 9 to 18, Hudson Speed will be offering classes that are exclusive to female athletes as well as a fitness series for the older special needs population in the near future.

Elite Training for Every Athlete
Hudson Speed offers premier training to improve strength, speed, agility, endurance and reaction, all while preventing and minimizing injury. The programs are not sport-specific as these skills apply to all competitive sports. Sports training improves performance, cardiovascular health, athletic ability, attention span, self-esteem, and weight management.
“Our business will be taking on new clients at the end of the month. We are looking forward to filling a much-needed void in Hudson County for athletes,” Jodi mentioned. “We are extremely excited to offer elite training to students who are serious about athletics and want to progress to the next level.”
The main focus of Hudson Speed is to provide the training necessary to take local athletes of every ability to the next level in their sport. The expert trainers do this by working with each client to improve speed, strength, agility, quickness, and endurance, which are all foundations of maximizing the athlete’s potential to improve in their sport while teaching injury prevention.
