About the Incident

A Hoboken Girl reader messaged the team, asking if we knew anything about the incident. Team HG reached out to Marci Rubin, Senior Public Information Assistant for Hoboken’s Department of Public Safety. She provided the following statement:

“I can confirm that Hoboken Police responded to a stabbing incident on Saturday, March 16th, at approximately 4AM, near the intersection of Jefferson and Fourth Streets.

According to HPD, the victim and his friends confronted a man who they believed to be breaking into a car, and that individual stabbed the 22-year-old victim, who is not from Hoboken. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment, where he remains in stable condition.

Detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact Police Officer Samuel Flores at 201-420-2100 ext. 3104 or [email protected]. HPD asks anyone who is a victim of or witnesses a crime to call 9-1-1 immediately and avoid confronting actors if at all possible.”
