While the threat of a bomb scare had the community reeling on Sunday, news of COVID-19 Hoboken University Medical Center {HUMC} reached a promising milestone last week reporting zero cases of COVID-19 patients for the first time since the pandemic started.

At the peak of the outbreak in New Jersey in April, HUMC cared for 124 COVID-19 positive inpatients in one day and repeatedly treated more than 100 inpatients daily during the month. As part of the CarePoint Health system, HUMC helped care and treat thousands of COVID patients throughout the last few months.

Ann Logan, Chief Hospital Executive said, “This extraordinary milestone is due to the remarkable commitment and incredible sacrifices our nurses, physicians and staff made to provide the best possible care for COVID positive patients and other members of our community requiring acute care in recent months. Our front-line workers have done, and continue to perform, amazing work under unprecedented circumstances.”
