March is a month of celebrations: St. Patrick’s Day, the arrival of spring. But it’s also Women’s History Month, a time to honor women past and present and their indelible contributions to society. Here in Hoboken + Jersey City, there are plenty of women to celebrate.

That’s why The Hoboken Girl is partnering with YogaRenew to host a Women Business Owners Networking Event on March 14th, where Hudson County women business owners can meet like-minded entrepreneurs and make some new friends. We’ve done this before, and it’s lots of fun!

The event will take place Thursday, March 14th from 6PM – 8PM at YogaRenew’s downtown space at 12 Hudson Place in Hoboken, with all proceeds of registration going to York Street Project

Who is this for?

This event is for local, women business owners and entrepreneurs in Hudson County — with registered LLCs and S-Corps, brick-and-mortar or online —  who want to enjoy a night of lite bites from Alessio’s, wine from Delite Liquors, doughnuts from Hayley’s Donut, juice samples from Nute Juicery,  individual headshots from Some Shelly Photography, soda from Poppi, and and real in-person conversations. It’s a chance to network, meet, collaborate, and, dare we say it — commiserate — with other local women business owners.

How does it work?

The cost to attend the Women Business Owners Networking Event is $20 per person  — which is a donation— all proceeds  are being donated to York Street Project, a Jersey City nonprofit. Each business owner will receive a name tag to fill in with their name and business. From there, guests can make their rounds, putting faces to names and businesses.

The event is only two hours, from 6-8PM, so that you can meet people in a non-overwhelming fashion, and then head out to wherever your day/night takes you.

Welcoming in local business owners for this charity event is such an exciting way to uphold their core mission of creating and embracing community.

About York Street Project

York Street Project is a non-profit 501(c)3 based in Jersey City whose mission is to build programs that help those experiencing homelessness or lack of resources. Sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, the program weaves innovative programs that shelter, feed, educate, and promote the healing and independence of persons in need, especially women and their children. Today, YSP has two on-site locations as well as apartments within the community with programs that aim to combat the cycle of poverty — and they work. Over 70% of guests who complete programs with YSP are living on their own and doing very well, as of 2023. Those who would like to get involved with York Street Project can find volunteer options and an Amazon wishlist on the organization’s website. Monetary donations are the largest need and a great way to know these resources can continue on for the community.
