The owner of Jersey City’s El Gordo, Lizeth Morales, is cooking free meals for Jersey City police and hospital workers, “to help our community through this difficult time.” With each of the hundreds of grab and go meals she has prepared for Christ Hospital’s ICU staff, Jersey City Medical Center, and Jersey City Police Department officers at the North District, she leaves a handwritten note reminding them to “stay strong.”

Members of The Max Challenge of Hoboken Pay it Forward

In the midst of this very difficult time when all local gyms were mandated to close their doors due to COVID-19 health concerns, The Max Challenge Hoboken recently offered to discount membership fees for all their members. Since then, many of their local Hoboken members decided to pay the full membership fee and offer the difference to other fellow members that have fallen on hard times due to the pandemic.

During these tough times our community has proven to be a shining example of strength for everyone to model themselves after. So keep fighting and remember, there is always something you can do to help your community. Sometimes the best way to find happiness is in serving others. Stay safe and healthy out there!
