Iron Monkey Hosts Its 22nd Annual Free Thanksgiving Meal Event in Jersey City

Written by:

While Hoboken’s own Mario’s Classic Pizza has been doing its free Thanksgiving meal in Hoboken since the ’90s, there’s a similar scenario happening by one restaurant in Jersey City. The Iron Monkey in JC has been hosting an annual Thanksgiving meal free to the community since 1996.

In an email to its subscribers, the Iron Monkey shared, “The Iron Monkey Restaurant will host its 22nd annual Thanksgiving Dinner Event on Thursday. Since 1996, the Iron Monkey has opened its doors to the Jersey City community and offered free Thanksgiving meals to anyone in need of a place to celebrate the holiday.”

This year, the Iron Monkey plans to serve Grab-n-Go Thanksgiving meals to the Jersey City community.

“Throughout this uncertain year, Jersey City locals have been our lifeblood, keeping our business afloat through extremely tough times,” they continued via email.

“While many of our guests come from local retirement communities, anyone in need of a meal and some holiday cheer is welcome to participate.”

The meals will be given out at the front door of Iron Monkey to take COVID-19 precaution from 11AM-3PM {99 Greene Street in Jersey City} and subject to availability.

If interested, you can call 201-435-5756 to check that meals are available, and visit www.ironmonkey.com for more information.
