Clearer, spring skies mean the stars are more visible from Hoboken. Of course, we’re not talking about constellations lighting up the night: by stars, we mean Hollywood celebrities, making their way to Hudson County for various film projects. Just yesterday, crews for A Complete Unknown, Timothée Chalamet’s upcoming Bob Dylan biopic, were spotted at Jersey City’s Miss America Diner — and today, March 26th, Hoboken locals took note of signage uptown indicating that a new movie, Miller by Marriage, is filming on 11th Street + Willow Avenue and Bloomfield Street. The project comes from famed Hollywood actor and director Edward Burns, who you may have seen in popular movies like 27 Dresses and Saving Private Ryan. The Details
Film crews were spotted by Hoboken readers in the early morning of March 26th. Signage on Bloomfield Street + 11th Street indicates that the project is called Miller by Marriage directed by Edward Burns and will be filming in town through April.

Putting the movie title into Google won’t arouse much detail — various wedding counseling companies, We’re the Millers quote lists, and unassuming Instagram profiles are all the search engine can generate. Per Patch, the movie is a “Tier 1A Low Budget Feature starting up in NJ.” On the New Jersey Film + Television Commission’s website, the production company (of the same name, Millerbymarriage) is headquartered in Jersey City’s Harborside Financial Building and is listed as filming in Morris County this March and April. The production company is also registered in the Writers Guild of America database.
Despite its low-budget status, this movie will be one to watch. The director, Edward Burns, is behind fan-favored films like The Brothers McMullen and She’s the One. It’s worth noting that The Brothers McMullen was a low-budget indie film before its meteoric rise to blockbuster hit. Burns has also acted in 30+ movies and TV shows — including main roles in Saving Private Ryan, 27 Dresses, and more.
Just last week, New Jersey resident David Schoner Jr. posted a job opportunity on LinkedIn for an office PA at Millerbymarriage. The approximate work days for the position were listed as Tuesday 3/12/24 through late April or early May. The Hoboken Girl has reached out to David for additional details but has yet to receive a response.
