Winter might be an aesthetically pleasing and pretty season {although this February, woooof}, but that doesn’t mean the same for your skin. If you’re like the majority, your skin is most likely feeling dry and cracked from the harsh winds and cold weather — and in need of a little TLC. Specialty skin products to help dry skin can be expensive, so we’re sharing an easy DIY scrub recipe that can be made with ingredients you {probably} already have handy. Enjoy gently exfoliating, moisturizing, scrubs that smell fantastic without spending big bucks and knowing exactly where the ingredients are coming from. Keep on reading to learn how to make two different scrubs to help you slough off the dead skin cells from winter with your very own DIY Sugar Scrub Recipe:

What You’ll Do:

Melt your coconut oil in 15 second bursts in the microwave — making sure that the oil doesn’t get hot — so it just melts into a liquid state.

Once the oil is melted, set it aside and combine your dry ingredients {you can use your hands if you want to get down and dirty, otherwise use a spatula}

Slowly fold the coconut oil into the dry ingredients, mixing until everything is one cohesive texture.
Spoon into jars, making sure to seal the jars tightly.

These scrubs are so easy to customize by using your own favorite essential oils or natural products, and they also make great gifts for family and friends.
