Some happy, hump day news to get you through the week. Yesterday, local resident Melissa Hill took to the Hoboken Mommies Facebook group to share a heartwarming anecdote starring Napoli’s, a two-year-old’s birthday party, and the generosity of a mystery couple. See the Facebook post below.
According to the post, Melissa + her husband Justin arrived at Napoli’s to begin setting up for their son’s second birthday bash. As the two got to work reimagining the local pizzeria into a toddler’s dreamscape, they apologized to a nearby couple for the impending chaos. She describes the couple as “polite” and “understanding,” mentioning that they themselves had three kids. When the little man of the hour and his crew arrived on the scene, Melissa was distracted by all of the birthday antics to maintain convo with the couple but was sure to wave goodbye as they headed out. They even wished her son a happy birthday.
When the party came to a close and Melissa went to pay the bill, she discovered that the mysterious couple had already covered it for her — the whole thing. Melissa said she was “floored, speechless, shocked” and replied to the cashier with a “scream/screech.” Melissa, girl, we feel you.
Unfortunately, Napoli’s staff had no info on the gracious couple and they still remain a mystery to Melissa + Justin — so naturally, we’re hopping on the case.
