A Blossoming Pilates Empire in Hudson County
Club Pilates is owned by a local mom, Emese Horvath, who also owns studios in West New York and Edgewater. Her blossoming Pilates empire is set to expand to Jersey City in the fall. The Hoboken studio celebrates its third anniversary this year.
“The best part of this job is seeing people feeling better, getting fit, or recovering from injuries,” Emese told Hoboken Girl. “We are grateful for all our clients who helped us get through the pandemic. The most touching feedback I got was from one of our members who told me how we helped her get through the pandemic mentally and physically with our daily zoom classes, held while our studio was closed.”
The goal at Club Pilates is to make the full-body workout style accessible to everyone, no matter your age, fitness level, or goals.
Operations at Club Pilates run smoothly thanks to the Area Manager, Gregg Evans, who is also co-owner of the Edgewater studio, and Zaidaly Nunez, the Sales Manager.
The team of talented instructors is headed by the Lead Instructor, Grace Park who is also a mother in the Hoboken community. After practicing Pilates for 25 years, Grace decided to qualify to be an instructor. She received her Pilates Mat + Equipment certification from the Kane School/Kinected Pilates Center NYC. Her training combines the classical principles of Pilates with a modern, clinical perspective on the body. She is well versed in all Pilates equipment; musculoskeletal anatomy; the hands-on touch method; body biomechanics and dealing with injured populations. Grace has also completed the FAMI workshop, functional anatomy for movement and injuries, which gives her a deeper education on the body and its application to movement. She applies her knowledge and compassion for others to teach strong, fun, informative Pilates classes.
The Club Pilates Experience
True to Joseph Pilates’ original Reformer-based Contrology Method, but modernized with group practice and expanded state-of-the-art equipment, Club Pilates offers high-quality, life-changing training. It’s more than just Reformers. Club Pilates studios feature a variety of apparatus, including TRX, Exo-Chair, Bosu ball, mats, rollers, and more.
Classes offered at Club Pilates are capped at 12 students with private training sessions for one-on-one attention. No matter your age or level of fitness, there’s a Pilates class that will work for you. In an effort to keep instructors fresh and to stay connected to the community, Club Pilates offers teacher training twice a year for those who would like to become a Pilates instructor. Teachers are required to complete 500 hours of Comprehensive Pilates training to qualify, so you know you’re in good hands when you attend classes.
Hoboken is Getting Fit + Feeling Better
The Intro Class is for the beginner to learn more about the studio, the workout, and the staff. Students in the Reformer Flow classes creatively flow from the Reformer to the Springboard, EXO-Chair, Mat, TRX, and more, ensuring you never take the same class twice. The high-energy Cardio Sculpt class is perfect for the cardio junkie. The class uses the Pilates jumpboard to facilitate plyometric movement against spring tension for an aerobic workout that won’t stress the joints. With nine different classes, it’s easy to find a good fit for your individual skill level.
If you’re new to Pilates, you can test it out with a FREE 30-minute introductory class on June 19th and 20th at the Hoboken location at 1400 Hudson Street, Suite 3C.
