The Timeline

Chipotle has taken over B.Good’s former location. B.Good opened in February 2019 at 30 Montgomery and then shut down operations in early 2020. The health food restaurant’s second location at 525 Washington Blvd also closed around the same time.

In June 2021, news spread that Chipotle was taking over B.Good’s spot when the Chipotle sign was seen outside the storefront and brown wallpaper covered the space’s windows. Fast forward to the end of August, Chipotle officially opened its doors and is now serving the community. The fast-food retailer opened its Newport Tower location (525 Washington Blvd) in 2016 and its Journal Square location (26 Journal Sq) in 2018.

About Chipotle

Chipotle was founded by businessman Steve Ells who opened the first-ever location in Denver, Colorado in 1993. There are now over 2,700 locations throughout the United States.

The fast-growing company has made some changes in recent years to keep up with the latest health trends. In January 2021, the company introduced its new Cilantro-Lime Cauliflower Rice, which, at the time, was the chain’s latest plant-based option. In August 2021, the chain then began testing spicy vegan chorizo made with pea protein by making it available at 103 test locations in Colorado, Indiana, and California.

“Plant-based lifestyles have continued to accelerate in popularity, and as a longtime leader in the category, we are exploring ways to give more variety to our fans,” Chris Brandt, Chipotle Chief Marketing Officer, said in a statement. “We used real ingredients to create a plant-based protein with a deep, rich Chorizo flavor that can be enjoyed by everyone.”
