This news comes after two fires in Hoboken + Jersey City just this week; the latter at another restaurant, Meryendang Pinoy, which was also forced to temporarily close.

Nearly a year ago, in Hoboken, another beloved Italian restaurant also suffered a fire. On January 21st, 2025, HFD responded to a fire at Otto Strada, which subsequently closed for nine months before reopening. Tony Boloney’s, a pizza shop downtown, still has not reopened its Hoboken location since suffering a kitchen fire on August 1st.
