Paint your own pottery studios take all of the work out of the experience so artists can focus on the creative process: all of the supplies are already on-site. This studio has pottery painting, glass painting, canvas painting classes for kids, and paint and sip classes for adults. Appointments are required and the studio is open Wednesday-Sunday. The studio has a variety of ceramics to pick from and, after the 60-minute pottery painting session, the pieces are fired in a kiln to create a glossy, food-safe finish.

Arts + Creations Pottery Studio | 964 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park

Arts + Creations Pottery Studio has hundreds of pottery pieces for painting with acrylics or the glaze and fire technique. The friendly staff are available to answer any questions painters have along the way. The studio charges a $5 flat rate fee for each piece. Reservations are required for pottery painting and the studio also has special event packages for people who want to host a creative birthday party or bridal shower.

AXIS School of Dance

Artsy | 504 Main Street, Boonton + 16A Division Street, Somerville

This studio does not require appointments for pottery painting so artists can simply walk in and get started. There are a bunch of ceramics to paint like bowls, seasonal decorations, and mugs. Adult BYOB canvas, wine glass, and reclaimed wood painting parties can also be booked at the studio.

Color Me Mine | Multiple Locations

Color Me Mine is a paint-your-own pottery franchise with a few locations in North Jersey. Reservations are not required and painters can select from walls of ceramics and more than 60 colors of paint. There is a $10 studio fee and ceramic prices start at $15. The Color Me Mine team will glaze and fire each creation and the pieces are typically available to be picked up in less than two weeks. Workshops, parties, and special events are also held at the pottery painting studios.

Fire Me Up Studio is an all-inclusive art space that does not charge a studio fee. Reservations are not required for pottery or canvas painting. The studio has unfinished mugs, figurines, frames, and plates for painting. The projects will be glazed, fired, and ready in about a week. Pottery wheel, clay building, and glass fusing workshops can be booked online for anyone looking for another creative outlet.

 

 

Painting Pottery Cafe | 35 South Van Brunt Street, 2nd Floor, Englewood

This pottery painting studio is open every day but reservations must be made in advance. There is a $6 flat rate studio fee which comes with paint and supplies. Painting Pottery Cafe also hosts mommy and me classes, team-building events, parties, and scout outings.

Ready to Paint is a walk-in pottery painting studio, but bookings are required for groups of five or more. Reservations are not required for smaller groups but the last seating is 90 minutes before closing time. Ready to Paint is open Wednesday-Saturday from 11AM – 6PM and Sunday from 12-5PM. Finished products are food-safe and ready within eight days.

Anyone can sign up for a paint-your-own pottery class at this welcoming studio in Jersey City. Bookings can be made online and the $20 class fee comes with unlimited use of more than 50 colors of paint. The helpful instructors will make sure participants have everything needed to enjoy the creative experience, and adults can even BYOB for a sip-and-paint class. The studio has wheel throwing and handbuilding sessions for artists who also want to learn how to make the pieces.
