Staying physically active is always easier (and more fun) if you do it with friends, which is one reason why group fitness classes are so popular. Barre3 Jersey City recently opened in downtown Jersey City at 10 Provost Street and we could not be more excited to welcome this studio to Hudson County. Keep reading to learn more about how the new JC barre studio works to connect your mind with your body + Team HG’s recent visit.

What to Expect

Barre3 is an efficient and effective workout that combines strength, cardio, and mindfulness. The classes are designed to help students increase strength, reduce stress, improve balance, and build a mind-body connection.

Clients are empowered to make each group barre class their own, through modification options for every move. This makes it possible for people of every fitness level to create sustainable change from the inside out, one class at a time.

“The best part of running this business is that I get to do what I have a passion for,” owner Patchanika Makaew told The Hoboken Girl. “And it feels great that I can share the experience with others while bringing joy and good health to the community.”

Hobbs Inc

As the owner, Patchanika oversees operations, sales, and marketing at Barre3 with support from instructor Sonia Di Florio who acts as a mentor and team lead.

“We value the clients’ experience and hold high standards for our services,” Patchanika shared. “The clients journey for us starts the minute the clients book our class and continues until the moment they leave a class. And we go above and beyond to make sure their experience is a special one.”

Jordan + Joelle Hernandez from Team HG got the chance to check out the studio and even attend a class.

“The welcoming aesthetic and smiling staff makes walking through the front doors feel more like a spa than a workout class. The instructor really took the time to explain each move for people who might be new to this type of workout and gave both modifications and progressions for all workout levels.

The changing rooms and bathrooms are fully stocked with personal care items that are great for freshening up after the workout and the apparel section is super cute. We will definitely be back again.”

The Memberships + Classes

Classes at Barre3 are available in 45-minute or 60-minute sessions, all focused on strength, cardio, and mindfulness through high-rep, low-impact ballet-inspired workouts using a dance barre. New clients can now get two weeks of unlimited classes for $89 at the new Jersey City studio.

“The transformative power of our workout is more than physical – and extends far beyond the studio. Barre3 isn’t just about the hour you spend strengthening and balancing your body, it’s about the empowerment you carry with you the rest of the day,” Patchanika said. “The barre literally offers a way to turn inward, away from the group, or to form a circle facing one another. But no matter how we connect to the barre, it connects us all, creating a community that both stands together and values individuality.”

Meet the Owner

Patchanika (Pook) was born and raised in Thailand, and while finance has always been her passion, she discovered barre when she moved to New York City and it slowly took over as her new passion

After her first class, she felt happier and more content + focused — and Barre3 was the only fitness class that motivated her to keep coming back. This newfound passion led her to open her own location of Barre3 in Jersey City.

“I love the community of Jersey City and Hoboken,” Patchanika mentioned. “Both cities are so strong in the community and the people support each other.”
